My upgrade strategy on Windows is always the same and has never caused any
problems...
1. Backup your Gnucash data file.
2. Download new Gnucash file and double click on it to start the process.
3. Let Gnucash uninstall the current version and then install the new
version - no need to do the

Thanks for letting me know, I will just have to wait until there is an update

Hi Mike,
I've modified my Advanced Portfolio report to show the Account Path
(e.g. "Investments:My-Broker:Account-1234") in place of the Listing
(e.g. "NASDAQ"). For me, this is more useful info, and perhaps it
would help with your situation.
On Windows, the Advanced Portfolio report is normally
Hi everyone,
in my price data, the currency for one of the stocks has changed. It
used to be in EUR, which is also the default currency and reporting
currency. Since recently that stock price is stored in JPY.
I also do have the corresponding exchange rate in the price database as
well.
I just tried v4.5 with Foxit Reader and didn't have any issues as well

Hi,
If I create a Transaction Report and export it to Pdf.
When I try and open it in Adobe Acrobat DC Reader, it will not do it and
gives an error code of 135.
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is, as it hasn't happened
before?

Hello everyone.
I am wondering what to do with the following. (For the record: I live in
Belgium and use GnuCash for my company bookkeeping).
I received a bill in January from my notary, registered it in Gnucash (2
expenses with VAT + 2 expenses without VAT versus Account Payable) and
registered
Good to know. Thanks.

In GnuCash, choose “Currency” as the “Type”

Gareth -- another workaround, in case direct to pdf is not working,
After making your report -- just hit the export button (not export as pdf)
Save the file
(The file will be in html - so it will read filename.html)
Double click on this file and it will open in your browser
You now can print
Just to provide another example, my upgrade strategy on Mac OS ...
1. Download the new version.
2. Double click on the .dmg file.
2. Copy the .app file to a folder within the folder where I keep all the
versions. Currently the folder contains
Gnucash-2.6.1-1
Gnucash-3.0-1
Hi Ken,
I did try what you suggested, but unfortunately for me it did not work.
It produced an error saying,... This file is already open or in use
by another application.
I did however open the saved Exported Pdf file in Premier Elements Pro, but
it did create quite a few errors with

I think I’ve developed a reasonable hand-over method, thanks to members of the
Gnucash Users.
I’m sending this partly as a record for me of what I’ve done, and partly in
case anyone else has a similar succession problem.
Let’s say I have two books - BookA.gnucash and BookB.gnucash. I did the

The error you received does not sound like a pdf or GNU-cash issue. It
sounds like a WINDOWS or browser error. So let's try just one more thing
(and hopefully this does it):
Run your report in GNU-Cash
Do print (instead of export)
Choose MS Print to PDF
Save the file.
Now just to be safe -
