Yes, I said that Quicken was one of the packages which allowed that.
Quickbooks is Quicken's "big brother" in application terms (not literary
terms, of course :-) ).

As long as you are aware of the behaviour, you can re-reconcile the
transaction once you have finished editing.
It's mainly a surprise later, when we forget to do that, at the time.

I have just finished upgrading to Debian Buster so I will soon upgrade
GnuCash from 2.6.15 to 3.x before I go to 4.x.

IIRC, I installed 2.6 from a separate download rather than through the
repos. I wonder if I should just completely uninstall GnuCash and start
afresh?
