I usually update quotes on the Win 8.1 machine, store the .gnucash
account file on Dropbox and then download/run that file to the Win 10.0
machine.

I am running 2.6.16 on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 machines. Given the
comments to which you've referred and the fact that GC is basically a
Linux program being ported to Windows machines, I'd definitely wait for
the dust to settle. I'm sticking with what I know works reliably for me
for the foreseea
I'm running GC 2.6.16 with Finance-Quote 1.47 on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
machines. I don't have an explanation but I do have an observation.
I've noticed that around the 15th or 16th of every month since the switch
from Yahoo to AlphaVantage, I've had only limited success getting quotes
using F
Had the same problem yesterday although my impatience didn't allow me to let
things run for 4 hours. After a couple of hours, I shut it down and got the
same error message. I'm using F::Q 1.47 and GNC 2.6.16 with Windows 10 on an
HP laptop. FWIW, I am trying to retrieve about 35 quotes (US stock/bo
quotes via

I'm finding myself going down a similar rabbit hole. After editing my funds
(38 in all) to reflect yahoo_json as had been suggested elsewhere, I still
couldn't get any quotes. I removed Strawberry Perl using both Windows
Control Panel and File Explorer and then, for good measure, did a Registry
scr
