Indeed. I over looked that report.

Need to review all different ones that are there…

I am still of the opinion that “Sample Graphs" from the "Example" should be
able to allow selecting an account. It would be very useful function to have.

you can use price scatterplot

select Reports > Assets & Liabilities > Price Scatterplot

Now select options from menu bar

on general tab select the dates you require

on price tab select Price of Commodity

on Namespace select the security you wish to report on then select the fund or
stock, select price source as price database > Apply, OK

see if that's what you are looking for!

Short answer: I don't know

Possible other ways to accomplish your task:

GnuCash does have (I think) a price report - it can probably be exported as CSV
or HTML and then read into a spreadsheet - spreadsheets have great graphing
tools.

Not to mention that most brokerage places have nicely graphed stock prices...

That was quick. I'm impressed! That is exactly what I want.

However, I see something odd on your example chart.

The horizontal gap between 10-6-2020 and 15-6-2020 (5 days) is much greater
than for
example the gap between 3-6-2020 and 10-6-2020 (7 days) or 2-5-2020 to
21-05-2020 (19
days).

Interestingly the same happens between 20-6-2020 and 25-6-2020 also 5 days.

There are two things that would be really nice to have but I can live without
them.

1. Display dates along X axis instead of numbers.

2. Select more than one fund or stock. But the workaround is to have one report
per stock.

[GNC] Report stock price history

2024-08-31 Thread David Houlden
Hi everyone. My first post to this mailing list.

I have just started to look at GnuCash as a possible alternative to KMyMoney.

One thing very useful in KMyMoney is that I can get a report of the price
history for a stock or fund. I regularly retrieve the prices then the report
shows the history as a line graph..

I have not been able to find an equivalent in GnuCash. Have I missed something
or can it not be done?

Thanks in advance.
