It's unfortunate I have to do that because the sheet is large enough
and complicated enough that I really need to see the headings
regardless of where I am. Maybe I can work with a smaller font.
Thanks!

Hi David,
This appears to be because of the positioning of the freeze panes.
By going to View-Unfreeze Panes the scroll bars reappear.
Indeed it does.
Thanks!

values, the plot lines disappear, as if it takes those scales as
indicating cells relative to {0,0} (which are, of course, far off from
my data and therefore empty).
How do I do what I want?
Thanks!

Please see https://parts-unknown.org/node/2 for GnuPG
to move them further apart to make room to expand
the charts.
Some sort of warning, at least, would be nice. Also, it would be helpful
to know the rules about chart size so this starts making a little more
sense.

There is no rule for chart sizes at the moment. The framework tries to
draw everything inside the allocated rectangle, but it can fail if the
area is too small. Things might change in the future, but it's
as a reference standard and setting the *better*
spreadsheet as a reference. Personally, I'd go with the latter.
