[Goanet] Deepen your Faith series during the Novenas to Saint Francis Xavier

2011-11-22 Thread Richard D'Souza
“Deepen Your Faith” Series at the Basilica of Bom Jezu

The Jesuit Fathers of Pedro Arrupe Institute, Raia will be conducting
a “Deepen Your Faith” Series during the Novenas to Saint Francis
Xavier at the Basilica of Bom Jezu, Old Goa. These 30 minutes sessions
will be conducted in English every evening after the English mass.
These sessions are aimed at allowing an ordinary lay catholic to
deepen the understanding of his /her own journey with the Lord through
the study of the many journeys in the Bible and in the Church. The
topics will include Scripture (Old and New testaments), the Tradition
of the Catholic Church, Eucharist, Reconciliation and the Spirituality
of Saint Francis Xavier.

24th of November, 2011: Day One – Our Faith Journey

“Always have your answer ready for people who ask you the reason for
the faith that you have” (1 Peter 3:15b). What is our faith journey
and how can we prevent it from becoming superstition? Am I personally
convinced in what I believe in? Through an overview of the many
journeys in the Bible and the Church we will learn to discover and
deepen in our own faith journey.

25th of November, 2011: Day Two – The Journey of the Old Testament

The Old Testament was the scriptures of Jesus and the first Christian
community, and hence is also important for the Christian community as
the New Testament.  The Old Testament reminds the Jews after Exile
that just as God had lead the Israelites long ago from slavery into
the Promised Land, so also will He once more build them up into His
people.

26th of November, 2011: Day Three – The Journey of the New Testament

“ ‘And you, who do you say that I am?’ Then Simon Peter spoke up and
said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God’.” (Mt 16:15-16).
The journey of the New Testament reflects the confession of our faith
in Jesus Christ. We will discover how the early Christians recognized
Jesus as the Messiah, the Christ, which the Jews were waiting for.

27th of November, 2011: Day Four – Tradition of the Catholic Church

The faith of us Christians depends upon the Apostolic tradition which
the Apostles first handed down to the Church and which has
successively being handed down from one generation to another to this
present day. Much of our Catholic faith is from this living tradition.

28th of November, 2011: Day Five – The Eucharist we celebrate

Why do we go for Mass? Out of obligation or out of conviction. What is
the Catholic understanding of the Eucharist? We will reflect on the
Eucharist as a Meal, as a Sacrifice, as a Memorial and as the Real
Presence.

29th of November, 2011: Day Six – The Eucharist in the Scriptures

There are four accounts of the Eucharist in the scriptures. They
reveal to us why Jesus chose the symbols of bread and wine, that is, a
meal, to represent his life. What is the meaning of the bread and wine
today as revealed to us by the New Testament?

30th of November, 2011: Day Seven – Called to Reconciliation

We are all made in the image and likeness of God. At the same time, we
are called to prefect ourselves in God's image and likeness. Sin is
when we choose to move away from God. God calls us to reconciliation,
to metanoia, to change, to turn back to him.

1st of December, 2011: Day Eight – The Spirituality of Saint Francis Xavier

“What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his
own soul?.” (Mk 8:36) Francis Xavier had planned to devote himself to
the intellectual life, but at a strategic moment he surrendered to
God, who had long and patiently pursued him. That surrender changed
the course of his life and the course of history as well. How can this
faith journey of Francis Xavier reflect in our lives too?

[Goanet] Taxing unoccupied NRI homes

2011-11-22 Thread Carvalho
Dear Vivian,
It is not going to be just unoccupied NRI homes, it will be all unoccupied
home. The original idea was to penalise the Mumbai and Delhi buyer but because
it has now become the NOT tax, NRI homes will fall under the purview of this
tax if it is implemented, unless they make some exemption for NRIs which
legally speaking they cannot.

So the government in order to remedy one problem is actually creating a
multitude of problems for itself. Collection of this tax will become a
nightmare as how does one decide non-occupancy. If the flat is let out for one
month of the year, does this constitute occupancy? If it is let out for six
months? Second home owner buyers from Delhi and Mumbai will conveniently find
the loophole while NRIs will be hardest hit.

Also this tax will really not solving the housing problem in Goa. The renters
market and the buyers market are entirely different.

I wonder why the government can't get one single thing right? Maybe they need
some NRI to advice them :-)

Best,
Selma

Dear Freddy,

I must admit the reason I pointed the error is to show that we make

Since we were debating the issue of Catholic Goans not using good English,

all your pieces thoroughly but I do glance over them.

[Goanet] Anna's dictum on drinking. . .

Yes, it is an unhappy turn for him. Even as an outsider resident in India I
have taken a keen interest in the Anna movement. I'm also much in favor of
effective social control of alcohol consumption. But I'm afraid that Annaji
disappoints now. Even if that is only a single string in his bow, it puts
the whole composition out of tune!

[Goanet] Video: Pro-mining agitation in the city ended up in Police Lathi Charge

2011-11-22 Thread JoeGoaUk
Video: Pro-mining agitation in the city ended up in Police Lathi Charge

It was peaceful all the way to the Panjim Ferry, opp Collectorate building
(From Merces Circle) but the agitators (near Thomas Cook),
suddenly started blocking both side of the busy Dayanand Bandodkar road thus
paralysing the entire traffic.
At first, it appeared that CISF or CRF started (upon provocation?), few minutes
later, agitators were lathi charged again until all run away for life.
Soon the crowd started gathering at the same spot – some heard asking Police
‘who gave them Lathi-Charge order?’
Some leaders seen calling back all the dispersed agitators back on the road but
not many came forward despite several requests. (once beaten twice shy?).
Which was followed by court arrest.  Meeting were still going on after 1pm but
on the pavement (promenade) this time.
All this was happening not very far from the Collector and Dy. Collector’s
offices.

[Goanet] [JudeSundayReflections] 1st Sunday of Advent

2011-11-22 Thread Jude Botelho
22-Nov-2011

Dear Friend,

Whether we like it or not, whether we are prepared or not, we spend a major
part of our lives waiting for things to happen to us or to the people around
us. Waiting can be boring when we are not interested in the people we are
waiting for, but it can also be exciting if the person we are waiting for is a
loved one. Waiting can be very important for us, especially when we wait for
God! Waiting for God is prayer! Waiting for God enhances life! Have an exciting
weekend anticipating for His coming! -Fr. Jude

Sunday Reflections: First Sunday of Advent-Being ready and prepared for His
coming! 27-Nov-2011
Isaiah 63: 16-17, 64: 1, 3-81 Corinthians 1: 3-9Mark
13: 33-37

The first reading, is a poem written by a returned exile, entreating God to
come and save his people. He recalls God's goodness and mercy towards His
people, he pleads with him to save them from their present sinfulness and
misery. The prophet humbly acknowledges the sinful ways of his people. We are
never worthy of meeting God and God seems to have turned his face from his
people but he is a merciful God and will come again to save his people. All we
have to do is wait eagerly for his coming.

Waiting for the Lord
Once I went to see my parents after a long absence. My mother lovingly scolded
me saying, Do you know how long we have been waiting for you? I said, I
understand, mother, but do you know how long I was waiting to be born? All of
us wait to be born, to be nourished and to be loved. Travelers wait for buses
and planes; students wait for the exam results. Waiting is part of life. Life
is not like instant coffee, there is always more to life than we can fully
grasp at any one time. If it is so with the life of a human being, what of the
life of God, whose glory shines not in one world but in ten hundred thousands
of infinite globes?  -If alert, we can find the Lord popping up in the ordinary
activities and possibilities of life. If I am watchful, he may be tapping me on
my shoulder when I meet my neighbour. If only we have those eyes that see,
those ears that hear (Is 64:4), we can meet him in his supreme visit which he
makes in a thousand ways. If
we look wide-eyed at all creation, which reflects God, when the flowers of the
earth are springing, the birds of the sky singing and a world of blended
beauties smiling, we can sense through the sacred feelings they arouse in us
the rustling of his garments and the coming of his feet. Even when the wintry
winds are howling and the heavens darkly scowling, we can feel the awesome
majesty of his giant steps. Yes, to meet the Lord, we must be prepared for
life, not just for death.
Vima Dasan in 'His Word Lives'

In Mark's gospel Jesus warns the people three times to be watchful and awake.
Be watchful! Stay awake! This call to stay awake is a very appropriate call
for us now at the beginning of the new liturgical year. The gospel today has a
short parable about the householder who has servants to whom he assigns
particular tasks before he sets of on a journey. He singles out the doorkeeper
with a special warning. Be on your guard then, because you do not know when
the master of the house is coming.  If we were to focus our gaze on the door
keeper alone we would realize that perhaps the greatest danger facing him is
not so much that he may fall asleep on the job as that he may grow so
accustomed to it, that it will become just a job and nothing more. We know that
gate keeping can become boring and routine can set in and take over in the best
of circumstances. We can get used to anything, we can get used to the Sacred as
well, we can get used to God, and then
smugness, skepticism creeps into our lives. We can become Christians by habit
and routine and we can keep up the external ritual and routine but we don't
encounter God anymore but only our own emptiness. Each of us is the doorkeeper,
whom God has put in charge of our own lives as well the lives of our brothers
and sisters, our community, our church, our society. Advent calls us to stand
ready and prepared for his coming. We stay alert by living the values of the
Redeemer in our own time and place. We can only welcome Jesus into our life if
we are alert and attentive to Him.

Are we ready?
Advent is God's rallying cry to his people before Christmas. Isaiah highlights
how limited we are without the power of God and he compares us to clay in the
hands of a potter. He pleads with God to rescue us from our inadvertence to
him. The gospel cry of Jesus to be on our guard and to stay awake alerts us to
the reality that self-interest always hinders our response to God. On the other
hand, Paul is loud in his praise and thanks the converts at Corinth who have
responded so fully to God's gifts to them. Together there is a pressing
invitation to be attentive during these weeks to the wonder of God among us.
Let us make space and time for him

[Goanet] Political Mileage From Public Works

2011-11-22 Thread Freddy Fernandes
Political Mileage From Public Works

With the elections nearing, hot-mixing of roads in south Goa has started at a
frantic pace, looking at which, it almost makes me believe that it would be a
blessing to have elections every year ! Roads in south Goa are getting a shinny
black look and for a change roads are being tarred soon after the rains instead
of just before, thanks to the elections, our people will get good roads for a
longer period of time this year.

The PWD stands for Public Works Department and is funded by public money for
public purpose and is surely not a charity institution funded by any Minister
or bureaucrat. The Ministers may be allotted ministries by the Chief Minister
for reason best know to him but that does not give them the right to act and
think that they own the department by their birth right, to do as they please,
what they please and when they please. As ministers they should realize that
they are answerable not just to the people who elected them but to every Goan,
as Goans everyone has the right to a better life and better facilities and not
just a select few constituents.

Goan politics is in shambles at the moment and it will get only worse if we
keep on electing these ignoramuses over and over again. It's been proved beyond
doubt that none of these elected MLAs are capable of working for the cause of
Goa and Goans but they have already achieved their goal of joining politics,
they done what they set out to do and more. They have made enough money to last
them a few generations at the cost of Goa and Goans, unfortunately they are not
done with it yet and still continue to fool gullible Goans.

Conniving is an act that our Goan politicians have mastered to perfection over
the years. They will go to any length to draw political mileage, especially in
times of disasters, man made or otherwise. They are like the soaring eagle in
search of a morsel and when it locates one it makes a dive and goes for the
kill from any height, so to our politicians, a whiff of something and they go
for the kill, I mean for political mileage.

The stand off between the Banaulim MLA, Mick Pacheco and the PWD Minister,
Churchill Alemao is a typical example; the charade at the hot-mixing site
highlights the paucity of their inane mentality, each trying to take political
mileage of the public works that are in progress. In Benaulim the PWD Minister
has been hot-mixing roads in the presence of his daughter Valanka, who is a
potential candidate for Benaulim, as though the hot mixing is being carried out
with his or her personal funds, on the other hand Micky Pacheco has been
breaking coconut after coconut for public works that are in progress in his
(supposedly) area as though he has been paying for it from his own pockets. Oh,
how I wish they would break their own heads instead of coconuts ! Are we Goans
fools enough, to fall for such cheap crap and elect such imbeciles ? Or are we ?

[Goanet] Pak Telecom Authority writes to The CSF on Jesus Christ in the banned list. Two Imp. Announcements

FW: From the Desk of...
Joseph Dias, General Secretary, The CSF
Catholic-Christian Secular Forum
www.thecsf.org http://www.thecsf.org/
^Ecumenical   ^Evangelical   ^Interdenominational

Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) Responds to Christian forum complaint
PTA takes Jesus Christ off the SMS list of obscene words
PTA Director Ahmed Pirzada writes to Joseph Dias about it

We have yet another reason to Praise the Lord. We added our little bit, by
merely emailing, joined by thousands. It shows how little it takes for the LORD
to bless one with success - Little is much, if it is placed in HIS hands. To
God be the glory -

The Catholic-Christian Secular Forum (CSF), the Mumbai based activist Christian
NGO had in a letter to the Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari; Communications
Minister, Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan and the PTA Chairman taken strong exception to
Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) including Jesus Christ in the list of
obscene words in text (SMS) messages. The CSF general secretary, Joseph Dias
said it raised serious concerns about basic freedoms, like that of expression
and religion in Pakistan. If such an action was taken by a non Islamic or
secular nation, singularly naming a god of any other faith, there would have
been a furore in the communication emailed to the Pak authorities.

In a reply to Joseph Dias, a copy of which was forwarded to the Pakistan
authorities concerned, Ahmed Shamim Pirzada, PTA Director said the list
forwarded to Cellular Mobile Telephony Operators (CMTOs) is tentative and under
review. Your point is considered and rectified in the revised list which has
assured The CSF that words Jesus Christ were off the obnoxious list. Earlier
in his letter to Pakistan's authorities, Joseph Dias referred to a letter by
PTA's Director General (Services) Muhammad Talib Doger said the order was legal
under a 1996 law preventing people from sending information through the
telecommunications system that is “false, fabricated, indecent or obscene”. It
also stated that free speech can be restricted “in the interest of the glory of
Islam.” How does the words Jesus Christ fit the above description? asked The
CSF general secretary.

One wonders why gods of other religions have not been mentioned in the list
and Christians, who are already facing persecution in Pakistan have been
singled out for such treatment? This has hurt our religious sentiments and
hence urged that Jesus Christ be removed from the list. The CSF expresses
solidarity with the Pakistani Christians and had taken up the issue, since it
is difficult for them to raise a voice on the same said Joseph Dias. He
thanked the Pakistani authorities for their prompt gesture and hoped that such
acts would not be repeated in the future.

Pl Note:

1.) Bangalore Meet: The CSF general secretary is going to be in Bangalore for a
day on 24th November, 2011 to meet activists. Those interested in volunteering

[Goanet] ICICI marketing insurance as 3 yr deposit

2011-11-22 Thread Nelson Lopes
ICICI misleading Scheme
The agents promoting the scheme are misleading the customers. The scheme
is palmed of as deposit of a fixed sum yearly It is assured that it is
better than Bank deposits with better interests rates and can be withdrawn
after three years When the document is sent, it is shown as an insurance,
which fact is hidden while marketing the product It was operating from then
premises of BOI Chinchinim and was casually recommended as a good bargain
At the end of the 3 year period, they demand more agreed premium payment,
under the threat that 5% will be deducted on payment or else you have to
wait for another two years At the moment of surrendering it was told that
final amount payable depends upon the sensex It is therefore
not guaranteed as it is linked to market fluctuations Hence another
uncertain wait to be able to recover your investment, forget about the
promised interest Like me many a customer , who parked the funds as deposit
for 3 years are in for a shock The promoters/agents representatives have
long left the service after fooling the customers on false representations
It is better that you should be beware of the marketing of the said scheme
as deposit, which in fact is the insurance It could be also converted into
annuity ,if one so desires , but that was not the purpose under which one
joined. Some have even lost initial deposits for not receiving
the reminder for the payment of the second annual installment

[Goanet] VASCO HEAVEN FOR DRUG TRAFFICKERS

2011-11-22 Thread Ricky bryan fernandes
VASCO HEAVEN FOR DRUG TRAFFICKERS

Be carefull!! it may so happen that one fine morning you get to know that your
child has fallen prey to drugs.
Today the state of affairs in the port town has been a total dismay, due to the
blessing from the Politicians and government officials.
One can notice that school and college going girls and boys of the port town
have fallen prey to this vice.
There are many drug dens in Vasco, but the latest hot place which has seen a
very high traffic of drug trafficking is at the dead end road in Mangor hill,
Vasco near Aristocrat apartment.
Come evening and there a bikes zooming down to this place as it looks like a
honey comb. Girls and boys from good families flock down to have their share in
the party.
The residents of that area are terrified and don’t even come out in the evening
due to fear.
For sure the Vasco police are well aware of what’s happening, but are giving a
deaf ear to this.
Today, the root causes of most of the crimes in the port town are related to
drugs.
I would request the local MLA, politicians and government officials to take
this issue very seriously and put a zero tolerance stance on drugs trafficking
or elves it will be too late till Vasco turn to be a drug trafficking hub of
Goa.

Your Sincerely, Stellon Dell

[Goanet] Jai Nanga .... No, Not a Digambara story ....but one of discrimination

2011-11-22 Thread J. Colaco jc
Do not know all the details of this story (yet) but it appears that In
Trinidad, an Indian (read, Hindu) state-assisted school run by the
Mahasbha 'fired' the principal for not following the directive ...
NOT to admit children of African descent to that school.

Another shade of Breach Candy!

Good Lord!

jc

http://www.trinidadexpress.com/news/Colleagues_support_Tunapuna_principal-134011588.html

In Parliament last week, People's National Movement (PNM) MP Patricia
McIntosh produced a letter from Gajadharsingh-Nanga to the Teaching
Service Commission in which she stated that general-secretary of the
Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha Sat Maharaj had instructed her to not admit
black children to the school.

Maharaj has denied the allegation, saying he was being defamed by the
media and the PNM as a black hater, and the high Hindu population of
the school was due to the ethnic demographics of the surrounding area.

He said Gajadharsingh-Nanga was not upholding Hindu principles and must resign.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said if allegations
of racial discrimination at the school were true, they were totally
unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

She said the Ministry of Education was conducting an investigation
into the matter.

[Goanet] ILLEGAL to LEGAL (Mining in Goa)

2011-11-22 Thread Arwin Mesquita
Can we hold the State to Ransom for forcing the ILLEGAL to be Legal? It
appears that this is what the Pro-Mining Lobby want to do, by their actions
today 22nd Nov. If this the case, then perhaps the Builders Lobby, Drug
Lobby, Prostitution Lobby, Corruption Lobby should also do the same, as
surely here also people will stand to lose income significantly. The fact
is that the few Mining Barons and MLA's, have made a disgustingly huge
amount of money, mostly illegally and used the people getting a pittance
from mining profits as Hostages, so as to try to continue their greedy
agenda's. The fact is that Goans have to choose between continuing mining
and destroying Goa's Environment and precious Water Resources. The solution
is to bring to book the mining barons and concerned MLA's, recover the
crores of rupees and use this money to compensate the ordinary people,
affected by the Mining stoppage. Also Goa is has potential to be a wealthy
state, which can sustain all Goans if governed properly and for the same,
we have to immediately start to clean up the politics and the disgustingly
high levels of corruption!!

Arwin Mesquita, UAE.

[Goanet] COLUMN: Accidental Activist: Here’s our plan

2011-11-22 Thread Venita Coelho

Here’s our plan
Why did the government ask the people to participate if it was going to
entirely ignore their clearly expressed wishes?

By Venita Coelho

Moira decided to look at the Regional Plan as an opportunity. The
government had invited people’s participation? Well, we would
participate with a vengeance, and get exactly what we wanted out of this
planning process. The first thing to do was to reject everything the
government was foisting on us that was anathema. So hundreds of
villagers filled in questionnaires rejecting the ten meter internal
roads, the 25 meter District road that would go down the centre of the
village, and the classification of the village as ‘ emerging township’.
The committee then went around the village for months, carefully
recording water bodies, water tables, heritage homes, landmarks, natural
cover. We created three maps of our own that showed all that we wished
to preserve, marking green lungs, water catchments areas and more. We
passed all of this by unanimous resolution in a Gram Sabha and sat back,
and waited.

The Final RP2021 is here. Every single thing we asked for has been
ignored. Every single thing we rejected has been put into the plan. The
10 meter roads and the 25 meter highway is there, along with new
proposed 10 meter roads. A huge water tank has been proposed for an area
that is highly eco sensitive. Huge swathes of fields have been marked ‘
settlement’. Is this a joke?

Why did the government ask the people to participate if it was going to
entirely ignore their clearly expressed wishes? Our idea of the future
we wished for Moira was expressed through a very thorough and detailed
report, through maps, through questionnaires, through a signature
campaign, and through Gram Sabha resolutions. All of which got us
absolutely nothing. This Sunday we again re-passed exactly the same
resolutions at the Gram Sabha and the anger was extreme.

One has to wonder at just how stupid this Kamat led government is. If
people were willing to get on the roads to fight the RP last time
around, did they think they wouldn’t this time?

After asking for peoples’ participation did they think people would then
be mollified and not question the final plan? Were they thinking of
anything at all except how to sneak in big business and construction
past the guard of the villages?

Moira has not rejected the plan. We have no intention of waiting four
years while another one is framed, with no guarantee of what that one
will turn out to be. We are determined to get what we want out of this
plan. We are doing all that is expected of us – filing objections, a new
committee report, Gram Sabha resolutions. We are also trying to meet
with the Chief Town Planner to present our point of view. But let no one
mistake this for lack of anger or determination to get what we want.

We are determined to stave off the concretized future the government is
foisting on us. It is time for the government to listen to us and to
every single village and take steps to incorporate our real wishes in
this plan. If the next step is a show of people’s power on the streets
of Panjim and in the election booth – so be it. (ENDS)

[Goanet] Mining: Goa's starving stomachs V/S Goa's choked lungs and damaged kidneys

2011-11-22 Thread SOTER
It was a treat to watch several well fed and double sized pro-mining protestors
drive into the city with their posh cars and march through the streets of
Panjim with placards and banners appealing to save them from starvation. The
appearance of these protestors gives the impression that they have enough body
mass to starve even for six months. How long will this farce continue?
We all know the hypocrisy and hollowness of the BJP and their faithful
anti-mining disciples that tom-tom around town about their love for Goa. We
cannot forget that elections are round the corner.
So while a miniscule section (portrayed by the media as thousands) cries about
facing starvation due to closure of illegal mines, what about the millions that
choke from dust polution and thirst due to non-availabiltiy of clean drinking
water caused by aggressive and indiscriminate mining?
Can someone's Right to Livelihood deny another's Right to Life?

[Goanet] Woman accuses live-in partner of rape

Woman accuses live-in partner of rape

MUMBAI: A woman lodged a case of rape against her live-in partner after she
discovered that he had married someone else. Based on her complaint, the
Borivli police recently arrested the accused, Viral Parekh (31).

The victim, who is from Hyderabad, and Parekh both worked in
Dubaihttp://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Dubai and
shared an apartment since 2006. They got into a serious relationship in
2008. The victim said that Parekh forced her to get an abortion three
times. The first two times, she came to Hyderabad for the abortion. When
she refused the third time, Parekh allegedly mixed an emergency
contraceptive with her medication, causing her to miscarry.

The victim told the police that Parekh's parents had lived with them for a
month in Dubai and that they knew about their relationship.

In 2010, Parekh came to Mumbai for his sister's wedding and got married in
accordance with his family's wishes. After returning to Dubai, he did not
tell the victim about his marriage and instead, continued his relationship
with her. A few months later, Parekh decided to move out. When the victim
asked Parekh why he was not marrying her, he said that he could not as they
were from different religions. He told her about his marriage and allegedly
said that he would divorce his wife and marry the victim, a police officer
said.

The victim discussed the issue with her family members and they approached
Parekh's family, asking them to tell Parekh to marry her. Parekh's family
refused to accept the relationship.

The victim then filed a complaint with the Borivli police. The police also
recovered obscene pictures of the victim from Parekh's laptop.

On discovering that her live-in partner, Viral Parekh, was already married,
the victim accused him of rape.

COMMENT: I am more than perplexed about this story. When things go awry,
then the cry is rape? It is interesting to note that contrary to the belief
by many in the U.K., there is no such thing a common law wife or husband

believe that they will automatically qualify for some protection under the
law if their relationship breaks down. However, as with gay couples (except
those that have entered into a formal civil
partnershiphttp://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/Family_Law/Civil_Partnerships),
their relationship with one another is not recognised as having any legal
standing, and they have no special status in the eyes of the English legal
system. If you are married and are splitting up, our
Divorcehttp://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/Family_Law/Divorce section
offers specific advice relating to these circumstances.

If you have just been living together then you should be aware that there
is no such thing in English law as a common law wife (or husband for that
matter). If you live together and your relationship breaks down then it is
each man or woman for themselves.

There are 3 essential things a couple who are going to live together should
do:

   - make sure the house/tenancy etc is in joint names, in appropriate
   shares
   - set up a simple Cohabitation/Living Together
agreementhttp://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/Legal_Documents/Document_Listing/Marriage_and_Cohabitation/Cohabitation_Agreement
   - make Wills http://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/Wills

 Executing corrupt politicians.
 Recalling non-performing politicians
Scourging boozards by tying them to an electric pole

 So What's next?

All meat eaters must be burnt
Those who wear pants must be stripped
Only Gandhi topi and dhoti is non-corruptible; ensures
 accountability and transparency

So, I am off to Mapusa in a jiffy
with an excellent piece of white cloth to Xavier Tailors
 to  stitch a Gandhi topi.
And I have asked my wife to cut up the best white linen
bedsheet and stitch a dhoti for me.
Next,  at SOONDAY MASS Moidekars are going to see a
 clown
 :-)
 Cheers
