The term Romi lipi in Konkani means Roman script in English. A script is
something used for writing and a dialect is something that is spoken. One
does not need a Konkani writer and English lecturer to tell us that! ;-)
We have had at least one former English newspaper Editor in Goa

What Konkani needs is a battery of welltrained, competent teachers,

Of late, a lot of dust is being kicked up for an additional script for
Goa's official language Konkani. Those who demand official recognition
I agree with most of this herein recital. i will add that those
christian-goans that prefer the Indo-Aryan script are also those that are
naming their children with the non-portuguese names. Therfore, slowly, but
surely, the konkanim goan i know will be no-more!. anthony.

Two or three years ago i had the pleasure to assist to a meeting about this
subject and it end up being a very interresting afternoon.
It was a polemic subject at the time and as far as i can see, still is.
