COMMENT: Wonder why Baliga stopped/started at Alexander? Is it because there were NO invaders before Alexander or that the Aryan hordes practised safe sex (Manu and Parshuram having been noted)? jc from the Kunbi-Harijan desk

Is it that we are unaware of what DNA of the Indian comprises of. c: Am not surprised that you chose the DNA info provided by a single person (VM in this case) - instead of referring us to the very large DNA studies which have been conducted or even that fairly large Chitpavan DNA project conducted by Dr Jagannath Dixit. You do have a penchant (do you not) of focusing on an irrelevant twig and missing the forest? d: I'd add here that a review of Goan history ( + the archives of the Communidade of Carambolim) would reveal an interesting history wrt circa 1500s Goa. Divar and its rich history of genetic input should not come as a surprise to anybody - even to those who claim to be conducting research! jc

Dear Wg Cdr D'Rozario, Sorry, had missed your post at Goanet (below), which was brought to notice by a fellow Goanetter. Sorry again, I do not think I included your name -- not at least in the book's main listing. Which page are you referring to? I did come across the name of Wg Cdr Alban Anthony D'Rozario in the VSM listings at BharatRakshak [S.No. 5044, F(P), 20 SQN, born 05 July 1934, commissioned 14 Jan 1956 -- incidentally, the month and year I was born!] but was told by an IAF Goan peer that this particular Wg Cdr D'Rozario was an Anglo-Indian from Trichinopoly. No way I could have included him. Maybe you are an equally distinguished, but different, Wg Cdr D'Rozario? Let me assure you that one rises through the ranks on the ability to follow instructions. One develops that ability thru training. There is no military professional, even after retirement, who will be able to shed that training. One of the fundamentals of that training, is to sign every document you author. When I first saw the post from this Alban person, I had doubts that he was a true military professional. I had some serious doubts. Re: [Goanet] GO ON...I'M NOT GOAN
Dear WC(retd) Alban D'Rozario, Pedigree especially refers to animals. Could be used for people too I suppose, but better descriptive words exist. Now unadulterated Anglo-Indian you will admit, is an out and out oxymoron. When you say since birth do you mean ancestry can change after birth? No offence, just in a lighter mood Wingco.
