An experimental Gentoo ebuild for 6.3.0RC5 is available at Gentoo-gis
overlay tracker [1].
New wxpython based v.digit is disabled till compilation issues are solved [2].
Feel free to test and use it.

Hi Jan,
Why do you want R under Cygwin? You simply need R to be installed
under Windows. Cygwin shell talks with R windows version.

Hi,
I am just beginning to work with Grass, although I am fairly experienced
with ArcGIS, including scripting for map production and geoprocessing
(Python and VBA). Basically, I am looking to automate map production in
Grass, using a script (Python or Perl preferably?). (I have to output

All grass commands can be run either from the gui or command line. The gui just
creates the command and executes it. So you can create a shell script with a
text editor that has all your commands, and does the usual things that shell
scripts can do and run it from the window that appears when
I need to create some legends using Truetype. I have compiled in support
for freetype and can use d.text.freetype to output to the monitor. The
legends work fine using standard fonts, but when I select Truetype the
legend draws without any text output to the monitor.
