for those who are using Ubuntu daily builds of GRASS 7.1. from
Launchpad [1]. I have renamed `grass7-daily` package to `grass-daily`.
So please first remove installed `grass7-daily` packages from your OS
and then install `grass-daily` package [2].

Is your elevation raster (in Grass) a single band or a 3 band composite?
