Yes, this is normal. There is a slight viscous coupling that occurs between
the clutch plates when they sit in the oil for a while without spinning.

not normal in my experience with the GTS
I have developed a nasty habit of not applying brakes when
starting a bike since none of my other
two machines did/do that)...
I hope you learn the easy way to apply the brakes before you shift into
