Short of an actual problem when should the brake lines be replaced?

According to the manual, brake lines should be replaced every 2 years or
whenever they are cracked or worn out.
Should you decide to replace them, It might be an idea to replace them with
steel covered lines. To the best of my knowledge, these steel covered lines
will last longer than
