Does anyone know where an American friend can buy a steam iron with a
separate reservoir in the U.S. She says she has not been able to find
one. Also, if there is a source, any recommendations as to brand. I
have a Tefal bought here in the U.K. and it *loves* ironing linen

Hi,
Im trying to make the stays with the laced
stomacher 1740-50. I found a lovely silk brocade for this in a period collour.
The pattern has not laced shouder pieces. Do you
think they were just sewn finished?
Anyway hereĀ“s a link:
It's difficult to tell from the line drawing. Do you have access to a photo
of the original stays? I would hazzard to guess, that with the rounded tip
to the strap, that the artist was looking at a laced strap, just didn't draw
in the eyelet.
By the way, it looks fabulous! Where do you get
I got it too, but haven't had time to reply. Can do it later today!

Greetings,
I am gathering together information for a new project
that some photography would greatly benefit from.
I was hoping some sympathetic soul somewhere close to

On ebay:
http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPageuserid=premiereprops5
Includes items from Chicago, Dracula, Gangs of New York, Shakespeare in

Unfortunately a lot of it ends tonight, but you should be able to search
completed auctions for items from this seller.
I bought my EuroPro, which has a separate steam
reservoir, at Tuesday Morning. I like it a lot!

Hi,
Have any of you ever seen extra tapes sewed to the top and bottom
center backs, for tying on if you use spiral lacing?
Bjarne
Not in any extant corsets I've seen - certainly in museums they don't
usually even bother to lace them properly.
Suzi
Oh yes i had another question. Do you think i should use a linnen binding
for the tabs and the bustline, straps?
Thanks again.
I think fully boned stays in such an elegant fabric deserve white kid
leather for a binding.

Susannah,
My Masters Thesis in Theatre Costume in Dec. 2000 was The Emperor's New
Clothes, set in ancient China, for children's theatre. We made a fat suit of
foam sheeting for the actor who played the Emperor. It was actually built by
Kent Parker, who was the manager of the Costume Shop at
Suzi (who really needs to find a new job - I hate ironing, and I hate

ps - meant glad it's not just me that feels like that :-)))

JoAnn's? Sometimes Hancock's? They carry the Rowenta version.

Right now it's on sale.
I don't have one of those yet, and am not really considering it right
now, so cannot comment on how well it works.
