I was asked today to make one of these purpoints - given the recent discussion
on reproduction prints, does anyone know of any "really up close" photos of the
"print" on the fabric of this garment? It sure would be fun to recreate it
that way!

Some of the silk brocades I use are taken from medieval patterns, and are
woven to order, with a minimum of around three or four metres.
They work out at around £90ish or £100ish per metre (or per just over a
yard).
One Italian velvet supplier has some gorgeous stuff - hand cut - a snip

When I was in London last month, I visited Watts & Co. in Westminster. They
mostly do ecclesiastical accoutrements and they had fabulous brocade. I
even got to see real cloth of gold (830 pounds per metre)!!! They do have a
VERY good facsimile for a mere 83 pounds per metre and they will do mail

We'll surely be ordering brocades made with real medieval/renaissance patterns,
it is only the question which pattern to choose.
Anyway, if someone were interested, it is no problem to send samples for you to
see what kind of brocade that is. It is far from these furnishing brocades that
