I'm familiar with the fashionfabricsclub lightweight taffeta, and it's definitely too lightweight for an outer layer. I got a bunch from the outlet store to use for lining facing, but this stuff is more like rustly habotai; I can't give you ounces, but I'd guess it's 12mm at the most. I
