I'll still see it. The costumes, as seen in the trailer, are beautiful. So even
if the movie is less than steller, I will enjoy that. Besides, I disagree often
enough with critics that I don't let them make my decisions for me anymore.

Depends on the critic--I usually understand where Mick LaSalle is at.

Look up the Sophie Marceau version from 1997, the costumes were fabulous,
even though the movie didn't get great reviews.

This new version seems to have a stark embellished look. I'll probably see
it anyway since it's been too long since I've seen a costume

ABC TV here in Australia has just adapted Mystery of a Handsome Cab, a
murder mystery set in Melbourne during the 1880s boom years. Some of
the costuming is pretty good given budgets and stock items for some

Ugh. After the treatment Joe Wright gave the Kiera Knightly PRIDE AND
PREJUDICE, I don't have much hope for this. I actually really like the Sophie
Marceau version because... well, Sean Bean plays a fantastic Vronsky, and the
costumes and cinematography are gorgeous! I love that they did the
locale. Whatever the reason, h-costumers are probably making (or
re-making) something. So, what's your dressmaker's dummy wearing
