I've used sometimes jEdit, it is written in java; I've used it on linux,
macosx and lately on opensolaris.
I use it just as an editor, not a full ide.

PS. On windows and on OS/2 I use MED and I miss it every time I'm on an
unsupported (by med) platform.

I'm using ME (Multi-Edit) under xDosEmu, and mc under pterm (terminal
emulator from putty). Works fine.
Copy,cut,paste under ME
under mc just compiling and testing ;-)

is already better (even F10 works! unbelievable :).

CTRL + O and then cursor keys UP DOWN

I am currently using Dolphin (KDE) as a file manager - it has a built in
terminal which can be started in the currently viewed directory (F4).
It also has drag/drop twin window file displays.
For an editor, so far the best I have found is Kate. It has highlighting
for Clipper code and sessions
