Hello!
If you remember, at the beginning of December I asked if anybody in the
list knew of a Minidisc recorder unit with the following features:
1) Date/time stamp
2) Long time recording mode (LP4): about 320 minutes
3) Auto Time Stamp (automatic track marks every xx minutes)
4) On/off timer (c

Maybe the main problem is the receiver, or/and the cable, not only the
minidisc recorde
To me it would make more sense to use an Flash MP3
player with an line-in record feature. You have the
best of several worlds, first, ablity to record and
them download a complete MP3 file in seconds to be
stored, edited on a harddrive and sent to CD or DVD's,
two the advantage of an MP3 play
Max,
I'd add to the list a Sony MZ-R37 portable recorder; I've used one for
several years and had zero interference on either portable or tabletop
radios. I've seen it for as little as US$30 on online auctions. Battery
life is limited, thought, so I use a wall charger for continuous use.

I've found the problem to occur when holding on to the minidisc
Thank you all for all the information.
I also heard earlier from DXers that as long as outdoor aerials are operated
with screened
coax from the aerial to the receiver, there is no interference from the
minidisc.
However this is difficult when travelling with a portable receiver and a
minidisc.

Yes minidisc interference can be a serious problem with portables. The
important thing is to keep the aerial as far away as possible from the
minidisc and use screened cables, but that will be difficult if you are
using

Last year I bought a Sony Minidisc recorder to record from my Sony
ICF7600GR receiver during travelling. I was very disappointed because of the
intereference produced by the MD recorder. Al recordings were spoilt by
buzzing noise about every minute or so and lasted several seconds.
I wonder if so

but at least for point 4 there is a simple workaround:
The recorder has a possibility named "Music SYNCH", which is available
via the remote-control only. In this mode the machi
sends its audio
signal through the connecting cord to the minidisc.

At least that's not a real issue. I'm using a very basic MD-deck (Sony
MDS-JE510) for more than five years now, which I still regard as
completely sufficient for my DX-purposes. It does not cover a
