[HCDX] Glenn Hauser logs September 17-18, 2016

2016-09-17 Thread Glenn Hauser via Hard-Core-DX
** ALBANIA. 9854.94, Sept 18 at 0130, R. Tirana sign-on is readable with some
concentration, atop the humroar, which is still extremely annoying and
discouraging one from continuing to listen (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** ARGENTINA. 15344v, Sat Sept 17 circa 2220, no signal from R. Nacional.
Usually can at least detect an off-channel carrier; nor later circa 0130 UT Sun
Sept 18 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11670, Sept 18 at 0125, RHC is open carrier/dead air at S9+20; minus
modulation, that improves the splatter a lot --- keep it up! While 11760 is OK
at S9+35 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 9800, Sept 17 at 2227, extremely distorted R. Cairo with humroar at
S4, i.e. the so-called European service in English at 315 degrees which carries
right on to North America, but cut off at 2228* instead of 2245, so no loss
there.

9965, Sept 17 at 2228, R. Cairo is already on here with usual whine, some
crackle, maybe JBM, S3, not supposed to appear until 2300 for English to E
North America. At 0100 Sept 18, this one is still little but a whine but grown
to S9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NICARAGUA [non?]. 8989-USB, Sept 17 at 2224, JBA speaker in Spanish,
presumed the fisher/preacher thought to be somewhere in or about Nicaragua
intruding into the aero band. He could at least use a marine band (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1000, Sept 18 at 0143 UT, KTOK OKC is in baseball, and it`s
Dodgers! Half a continent away from L. A., but with ad for CHLA.org and talking
about Dodgers, but whence? Finally, ``here in Phœnix``. One week ago in Kansas
City, KAZ asked me if KTOK carried Dodgers, as he was hoping he was getting one
of the Californians on 1000. I thought KTOK unlikely, but there it is (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, Sept 17 at 0055, JBA carrier from R. Chaski, until auto-cutoff
at 0058:35* which is 7 seconds later than last night, so we are back to the
usual recession after an unexpected re-reset earlier than 0100. If this keep
up, it will not reach 0100:00 for another 13 days or so (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 9465, Sept 18 at 0156, JBA carrier, 0159 can barely make out the TRT
IS and timesignal ending at 0200:02. No Qur`an heard, and no bigsig like 24
hours ago, but seems to be a second very weak signal on now. VOT now is the
Uyghur hour. Meanwhile, Wolfgang Büschel checked out some other VOT services to
Islamic-dominated countries and did not hear any other Qur`aning from it (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1843 monitoring: confirmed Saturday Sept 17 at 2230 on
WBCQ, 9330.045-CUSB, S9. Also confirmed UT Sunday Sept 18 at 0333 during
Madang, PNG item, 18 minutes into show so started at 0315 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM,
Wentzville MO. Next:
Sun 0830 Unique Radio NSW 3210 ND
Sun 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Mon 0030 WRMI 7730 to WNW
Mon 0300v WBCQ 5130v Area 51 to WSW
Mon 0330 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Mon 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Tue 1100 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Tue 2130 WRMI 15770 to NE
Tue 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Wed 1315.5 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2100 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
Wed 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 15770, Sept 17, having heard ``Lincolnshire Poacher`` at 2129 closing
Radio Northern Ireland, retune at 2151, to find WRMI with monotone screed about
socialism, stumbling non-professional announcer, so convoluted at first it`s
hard to tell whether pro or con. VG signal, but fading down by 2159.5 when
switch to classic WNYW-style WRMI ID and off 2200*. Sked shows at 2145-2200 Sat
it`s `Dub Politico`. Nothing about this strange program on the WRMI Programming
page.

9955, Sept 17 at 2315, WRMI`s #1 frequency (rather xmtr #10), is OFF, not due
to prop as 9395 is still in at S9+20. 9955 still off at 0104 Sept 18 check.

7570, Sept 18 at 0111, here`s another World Music block on WRMI, at least
tonight, Italian crooner, 0113 `Chariots of Fire`, i.e. cutting away from
Brother HyStairical, who is still going on 7730 and 7780. Recheck at 0216,
still music not // BS. But after `Sandunga` at 0257, back to BS at 0300, so
here we have at least two more hours` respite, 0100-0300 UT Sunday.

Could be this is a warmup for tomorrow night, when another PCJ Radio
International special from the Radio Netherlands archives is scheduled during
those exact hours, UT Monday September 19 (and first airing, should they both
eventuate in full, is for Sunday September 18 at 0600-0800 to Europe on 7780).

So I will update the World Music hours each time I find a new one:
-0100 Tue-Sat 7730 285 degrees
0100-0300 Sunday *7570 315 degrees [and any other days?]
0700-0800 Tue-Fri 7730 285 degrees
1300-1400 Mon-Fri 11580 44 degrees
1700-1800 daily *13695 315 degrees
2000-2100 Mon-Sat 11580 44 degrees
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

[HCDX] Glenn Hauser logs September 17, 2016

2016-09-17 Thread Glenn Hauser via Hard-Core-DX
** ALBANIA. 9854.97, Sept 17 at 0127, same old story, R. Tirana IS below
humroar, and program audio after 0130 even further below. Also this time, weak
SSB QRM on the hi side. Doesn`t RTSH understand how bad these prolonged useless
broadcasts make them appear in the international broadcasting community? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ERITREA [and non]. 7175, Sept 17 at 0357, AM carrier detectable surrounded
by loud noise jamming, sounding suspiciously like DRM. Still same at 0431, but
gone by 0520. This is listed in WRTH 2016 as Voice of the Broad Masses of
Eritrea, program 2, 100 kW, irregular (and program 1 on 7200). 7175 was first
reported reactivated in the local evening of Sept 14. Wolfgang Büschel then
found the jamming too, presumably by ETHIOPIA. Hey, Ruxandra, shouldn`t your
DRM Consortium be promoting this additional valuable application of DRM
noise-producers? BTW, I also had checked after 0400 Sept 15 and did not hear
any of these intruders into the exclusive worldwide 40 hamband; already off?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 720, Sept 17 at 1158, open carrier from WSW/ENE atop a weaker
Mexican music station, the latter mentioning ``La Raza`` at 1202 UT, so no
doubt KSAH San Antonio. I wait and wait for something to start, until 1206
Mexican choral NA finally starts; 1208 Chihuahua state song; 1209 inspirational
``un nuevo día`` recitation about ``amor, y sólo amor`` with music bed. 1212
weakening but finally brief canned sign-on as ``El Fonógrafo 7-20 AM``, street
address in Ciudad Juárez, ``mil watts, Grupo Radio México``; then switch to
live announcer with 6:12 TC, and calls mentioned for first time, XEJCC,
plugging algo at 9 am from México DF, 1213 into music. Calls pronounced
``equis-e-jota-céce``, i.e. emphasis on the first C, rather than equal or even
more stress on the second, so at first it sounded like ``efe`` or ``ese``.
``CC`` could be interpreted as cese, ``stop it`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 9545.002, Sept 17 at 0525, carrier with a trace of
modulation at S4-S6, no doubt SIBC running late again, but almost back on
frequency after this Sept 16 report in the DXLD yg:

``SIBC 9545 has been missing lately so I was pleased to hear them again today.
Firstly at 0148 UT when the frequency was measured at 9545.146, the at 0455
recheck they were on 9545.62 but the frequency was still wandering - up to
9545.70 within a minute. Bryan Clark, Mangawhai - New Zealand`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SUDAN. 7206-AM, Sept 17 at 0426 a carrier is here, and still at 0520 but
JBA, no doubt Omdurman which sometimes clix a kHz up or down from nominal 7205;
same time I was originally getting Eritrea 7175 and jamming (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 13695, Sept 17 at 1702, WRMI is still providing an hour of its
wonderful `World Music` as respite from Brother HyStairical before and after
this hour. From WRMI schedule grids, here are all the times for World Music,
plus *this one not on the schedule. There may well be others, most likely
carved out from other extensive Overcomer hours!
-0100 Tue-Sat 7730 285 degrees
0700-0800 Tue-Fri 7730 285 degrees
1300-1400 Mon-Fri 11580 44 degrees
1700-1800 daily *13695 315 degrees
2000-2100 Mon-Sat 11580 44 degrees
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490, Sept 17 at 0541, no signal from WBCQ. I think it was not on 24
hours earlier either, tho I failed to note that for sure. Guess what, the new
0400-0700 seven-day-a-week entry on:
http://schedule.wbcq.com/main.php?fn=sked=7490
``0400 0700 UTC The Hour Of The Time / The Road To Paradise`` reviving the
defunct conspiracy guru William Cooper, which I had logged only on Sept 13 &
14, I did not notice either Sept 15 at 0619, and as of Sept 17 has been removed
from that schedule (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. Re my log of 9275, WMLK reactivated Sept 16, Rafael Rodríguez R.,

``WMLK Radio has returned to the shortwave airwaves today (9/16/2016) at ~12:00
noon [EDT = 16 UT]. We are broadcasting at 130 kW. Music and the Statement of
Doctrine are on the program today! A lot of work has gone into bringing WMLK
Radio to the current high level it now is broadcasting at! Please enjoy this
remarkable event! Thank you!`` (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 15240, Sat Sept 17 at 1702, R. Munansi is presumably still going,
weak talk in Luganda(?) via WWRB (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 720, Sept 17 at 1214 UT, as XEJCC Juárez is fading out, something in
English from E/W, talking about César Chávez and Harvey Milk; 1217 UT several
ads to 1221 fading with toll-free numbers, starting with anti-IRS Tax Shield.
Hard to see how this could be anything but KDWN Las Vegas NV --- nothing else
out there on 720. Per

[DX] Channel 292 informs

2016-09-17 Thread Kari Kallio
Hallo Freunde,

Radio Star (Italien), Radio West (Italien), Das Medienmagazin (DL), HIT AM
(DL), Everythingradio (NL), Free Radio Service (NL), Radio Pushka / Радио
(Russland), Atlantic 2000 (Frankreich), Shortwavecommunity (DL),

http://www.wimo.com/channel292-dxpatrol_d.html

Radio Channel 292
Rainer Ebeling

Hello to all our friends,

maybe you already noticed, that with the new power amplifier and the OPTIMOD
modulation system our signal on 6070 kHz is stronger and sounding better.
And there are to mention some new stations that use our transmitter to reach
their listeners:
Radio Star (Italy), Radio West (Italy), Das Medienmagazin (DL), HIT AM
(DL), Everythingradio (NL), Free Radio Service (NL), Radio Pushka / Радио
(Russia), Atlantic 2000 (France), Shortwavecommunity (DL),
and once again aboard Radio Waves International (France).
We wish you fun listening, and writing reception reports!
And then we have to mention a premiere: WiMo, well known dealer in
communications equipment offers a small software defined radio (SDR) with
good features for less than 100 euros. And as a special offer in cooperation
with Radio Channel 292 our listeners can get the device even cheaper when
ordering via the banner on our homepage, or via this link:
http://www.wimo.com/channel292-dxpatrol_d.html

There you will find a lot of information over this SDR, which of course is
fitted for shortwave, too; with a tablet or smartphone even when you are
on the road!
It would be nice, if someone is interested, if he would order the SDR
via our
banner or link; we DON'T get a share of the sales, but it would show
WiMo and
maybe other companies, that commercials on shortwave still can work, and
perhaps they would book some more commercial via our station then.
ATTENTION: The offer is valid only a few days - thank you for your
support in
advance!
A listener, who already bought the DX Patrol some time ago, sent in the
attached screenshot.

And a little survey:
We think about making an application for two more frequencies, one in the
31, and one in the 19 meter band. Who could receive us there? Who might be
interested?

Regards,
Radio Channel 292
Rainer Ebeling

Beste vrienden,
HIT AM
(Duitsland), Everythingradio (Nederland), Free Radio Service (Nederland),
Radio Pushka / Радио
(Rusland), Atlantic 2000 (Frankrijk), Shortwavecommunity (Duitsland),
