Uggh, I've been pulling my hair out over crackling I'm hearing on the HF/SW bands for the last month or so. It'd gotten to the pointed where most of HF was unlistenable. I'd put an AM Broadcast filter in line and that didn't seem to negate anything even in the slightest. I switched out a few

Regardless of how the Wellbrook is powered, a faulty part on the powerlines will generate RF energy across a wide range of frequencies and act as an antenna to broadcast that noise all over the place. The Wellbrook will pick it up just as it will pick up any other radio signal. You might get

Sorry – I should have read your original post before responding. Does the noise return when you start using the Wellbrook again? Noise from a faulty powerline component often appears when the weather gets very dry and disappears when it rains. So you should do more than one test of putting
