Re: [Hardhats-members] Medtronic LIFEPAK 12

2006-06-06 Thread Chris Richardson
There are numerous medical devices which do work with VistA. One of the
best people to contact concerning lab and medical device interfaces is Bill
Ackerman from the VA in Chicago. He and his father are frequent visitors to
this list. Perhaps Bill has some insight to the problems involved in doing
device interface.

The VA has interfaces for some devices and I have been trying to get the
information about what devices and the code. I understand it will be
 forthcoming, sometime.

I will see if I can find out if this is one of the devices supported.
Mostly,
it is the choice of the manufacturers to provide the code that meets the
specifications provided by the VA, not the reverse. It pays to be the
1000
 pound gorilla of healthcare!

 Hello,

Were looking into using the Medtronic LIFEPAK 12 system. What's
interesting
about this device is that it has a serial interface to retrieve data from
the system. The PC it hooks up to must have a LIFENET data management
product (such as CODE-SAT) in order to view incident data. I was
wondering
 if Open-Vista has this capability...

 Thank you,

[Hardhats-members] Need Information Regarding Vista Imaging Module

2006-06-06 Thread Falak Sher

I am currently working on Imaging Module of Vista. I want to know from where I can get the code of it so that I can set up a demo. I have read the documentation of this module from the website (www.va.gov/vdl) and have some basic understanding of it. I know there are some proprietary components in Vista Imaging Module. Please guide me which are these components and what is the best possible way to get them so that I may have a complete demo of this module. regards

2006-06-06 Thread Nancy Anthracite
If you are in the US, if you make a demo, you will potentially be putting
yourself squarely in the crosshairs of the FDA as that is considered to be
marketing unless it is a purely academic exercise and you never intend to
install VistA imaging or help to install it anywhere.

That said, if you still want the code, the code from 2004 is on my server
along with a list of the proprietary components, and there is supposed to be
another FOIA release being prepared.

There is also the test version of the Hui Imaging package on my server. The
two links are:

Re: [Hardhats-members] Outpatient Meds status solution (was HFS Directory)

2006-06-06 Thread Matthew King

Here is how I was able to get the meds
from the outpatient med list to display active in the CPRS med list and orders:

This is important because if you choose
non-VA meds to populate the patients med list, they are an active status
but you cant refill them. On the other hand if the Outpatient med status
is pending or unreleased, you cant refill those either.

1)
Carlos suggestion: D ^XUP--KERNEL--CHOOSE 5
(KERNELMANAGEMENT) AFTER ENTER/EDIT GO TO PAGE

NUMBER 3 AND CREATE OR
MODIFY THE HFS DIRECTORY ENTRY.

I used: /tmp/

2)Go into linux and make the
file: cd /tmp (enter); emacs hfs.dat; THIS IS THE HFS FILE FOR PHARMACY. Save
and exit (Control x Control c, yes). Then write privileges: chmod a+w hfs.dat.

3) Give the pharmacy key to whoever
will release the meds:

 D
^XUP; SELECT OPTION NAME: PHARM; CHOOSE 1 ENTER/EDIT PHARMACIST; SELECT PHARMACIST: PROVIDER,ONE (OR
WHOEVER); KEY: PSORPH; REVIEW DATE: (ENTER)

4) ADD THE MENU: D ^XUP; EVE; 1; USER; EDIT; TAB TO SECONDARY MENU: OUTPATIENT PHARM; SELECT
2 (MANAGERS MENU) SYNONYM OP; SAVE AND EXIT

5) PROCESS THE PENDING MEDS: D ^HUILOGIN; (PROVIDER ONE); ENTER OP; HIT RETURN UNTIL YOU
SEE: SELECT OUPATIENT PHARMACY MANAGER OPTION: TYPE RX; ORDER SUMMARY?// NO; PATIENT PROCESSING; SELECT
PATIENT NAME// DOE,JOHN; NOW JUST HIT ENTER UNTIL YOU GET THE MED ORDERS (THESE WERE
ENTERED IN CPRS) AND THEN SELECT ORDER (SO); PROCESS IT AND THE MED
WITH BECOME ACTIVE.

There may be an easier way. I would like
to try to create a Pharmacy Dialog to handle it right from CPRS, but I
dont know it that is possible yet.

[Hardhats-members] Clinical Reminder configuration in OV4

2006-06-06 Thread Matthew King

Clinical Reminders dont work in OV4 after primary
installation and configuration. Here is how to turn on the
clinical reminders: Resource is CLINICAL REMINDERS GLOBAL INDEX TECHNICAL
MANUAL AND CLINICAL REMINDERS V2 SETUP GUIDE.

1)
Build the Clinical Reminders by: D ^XUP; PXRM INDEX BUILD; select 1-16; YES; READ THE EMAIL
GENERATED! These will report success and errors and suggest checks needed.

2)
MAP LOCAL LAB NAMES TO NATIONAL TERMS: D ^XUP; REMINDER TERM; 2 (REMINDER TERM
MANAGEMNT); 2
(REMINDER TERM MANAGEMENT); TE
(REMINDER TERM EDIT); SELECT REMINDER TERM: VA-LDL: 1; SELECT FINDING: LT.LDL; CHOOSE LDL CHOLESTROL; PRESS ENTER UNTIL:
CONDITION: I (+V0);
enter through the other prompts except: CONDITION CASE SENSITIVE:// NO;

Do the same for LDL-CHOL
(calculated), so VA-LDL has two mapped entries. Then do the same for VA-LDL(100-119)
 I (+V99)(+V120) VA-LDL(120-129)
 I (+V119)(+V131) VA-LDL(100)
 I (+V0)(+V100) VA-LDL 120 I (+V0)(+V120)

EACH OF THE FOUR VA-LDL TERM SHOULD
HAVE 2 MAPPED ITEMS. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONAL ITEMS TO MAP. SEE THE SETUP GUIDE.

3)
Set the user and system levels: D ^XUP; CPRS REMIN; NP; 4 SYSTEM; USE NEW REMINDER PARAMETERS: YES

4)
Because this is set at the system level, providers
still can turn on and off the reminders in CPRS. If you want to make them
mandatory, turn them on at the user level. You can test reminders at the
REMINDERS MANAGER MENU using REMINDER TEST (RT). Errors will go to your
mailbox. The geriatric extended care setup is separate (see setup manual,
chapter 2)

2006-06-06 Thread James Gray
Now I understand. It is an excellent namespace assignment.

FYI - the ASISTS package is an acronym for Automated Safety Incident
Surveillance Tracking System and its namespace is OOPS ... I took some
 heat
for assigning that namespace. :( ... But I've always felt it was one of
 my
 better namespace assignments. :)

Re: [Hardhats-members] PCE namespace

2006-06-06 Thread Curtis Kropar
it is actually OOPS ???

hahahaha

I thought you were going to say the namespace for ASISTS was an abbreviated
form of Automated Safety System

[Hardhats-members] Need Urgent Help regarding Vista Imaging Module

2006-06-06 Thread Falak Sher

I am currently working on Imaging Module of Vista. I want to know from where I can get the code of it so that I can set up a demo. I have read the documentation of this module from the website (www.va.gov/vdl) and have some basic understanding of it. I know there are some proprietary components in Vista Imaging Module. Please guide me which are these components and what is the best possible way to get them so that I may have a complete demo of this module. regards
