In my experience, if you delete files from the Dropbox site, the files in the sync folder will also be deleted after sync. To me this make sense. This is why I keep a sync folder and a data folder for the files going to Dropbox. Hope this clears things up, On October 2, 2013 at 7:28 AM Thane

No. The upload to dropbox would not delete the local files. She must have deleted them thinking they would remain on the dropbox machine. It seems lots of people think that files put into the dropbox sync folder are stored on the cloud so it is ok to delete them from the sync folder on the
