I have found with bone sections, which I pick up with silanised slided, that if
I apply gelatin to the slides just prior to picking up the sections, the
sections don't lift. The slides are dipped in the gelatin solution, then the
sections are picked up off the surface of the water.

processing. After the hoof is fixed for several weeks we leave the hoof for 12
hours sometimes longer in 10% Potassium Hydroxide and then further trim the

I’ve been trying to cut frozen fatty muscle tissue from 2018/2019 stored at
-80C. I managed to cut some sections from the same tissue on fresh frozen
tissue in 2018. I suspect that storage may contribute to the difficulty to cut

There is no magic answer to this. Just persistence and experience. Dexterity
will improve over time.

I resolved the problem with my earlier post from the 26th of September by
cutting the muscle at a lower temperature -18C. The muscle has previously been
embedded in OCT immersed in Isopentane and the into liquid nitrogen and stored
in a freezer at -80C. The tissue is Wagyu muscle some of
