At the New York Philharmonic concert at the Bravo! Vail Valley music
festival tonight (which consisted of Tchaikovsky's Festival Cornation
March, Violin Concerto, and 5th Symphony, and two (!!)encores; the whole
concert was _amazing_), I was able to identify all the horns that the

symphonies and how the horns are used and in what keys they are in. There
are some fascinating symphonies that are rarely playedand I can see why!

during those 3 weeks to prevent my chops from _completely_ dying
when I come back? I am going to try to visit music shops, etc. in an
attempt to play different horns (than what is available here), but
other than that, I won't be playing at all.

(which is supposed to match larger bell horns) with thicker corks.
Would the thicker corks be causing the intonation issue? How can I
lower the pitch of the mute?

and 2nd Bb slides about an eighth of an inch more. There
is no Bb tuning slide. I have played the same horn with another
mouthpiece, but not enough to really notice any difference.

Reiche did die of a stroke, but not during or immediately after playing.
