[Hornlist] Conducting Fitness

Hello Everybody, I can attest to the fact that being a conductor must keep you fit. We are in the middle of an Orlando Opera production of Turandot with Maestro Anton Coppola conducting. He recently turned 91 years of age and he is able to get through the 3 hour sessions with ease!

If I remember right, Fritz Reiner of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (~1950s) was on the portly side. He was well-known for his ability to elicit massive orchestral effects from his musicians using only small movements of his fingers. I guess he figured out how to have his cake and beat it
