Hi Andrew, The custom imagery was only available for this most recent project so I was using Bing when I made the short video on mapping tall buildings. So yes, you need to use the WMS imagery and align it to the existing mapping or the bing imagery and then map using the new imagery. But

Blake Your video was really useful in explaining how to map this really dense area, and has encouraged me to make a contribution, but before I do, can I resolve a slight contradiction. In the text of your message you mention that imagery that needed to be used was the WMS layer. When I first loo

In Belgium (and probably most other European countries), cities are a hodgepodge of buildings and extensions built over time. It would change the meaning of building=terrace to use this in cases like this. (even the government can't keep track of this, often buildings are simply split along the cad

Hi all, I think it is difficult to get a more specific tag than building=yes for most buildings from aerial imagery. building=yes is generally correct because it is the most generic of building tags that can be refined when more information is available. It is not misusage to apply buildin

I somehow missed looking at the main building wiki page, focusing on the subarticles. As Blake rightly pointed out at the tagging list: "In addition outlines can either be simplified shapes or very detailed outlines which conform accurately to the shape of the building. It is not uncommon for buil

building=multiple certainly describes it better. Terraces, in my mind, are generally linear in form, whereas some of these collections of buildings extend in all sorts of directions. Advice from the tagging list would be really useful, I think Thanks Joost, Pete On Wed, Mar 16, 2016 at 11:30

Hi Jaako, It's an interesting point. Being from the uk, I associate terraces with something very different from what is being mapped in Damascus But, building=yes is misleading in this case and terrace is a much more logical description. Be interested to hear what others think Pete On T
