I have HtDig installed and working perfectly except for the following.
I often get search hits with the following message:
None of the search words were found in the top of this document.)
If I use no_excerpt_show_top:true The message of course goes
away but the hit/link is still there.

variables you suggested I had already
incorporated in the htdig.conf file.
I have the following variables set:
use_meta_description: false
meta_description_factor: 0
max_head_length: 5
also because I am using anchors I have these
Just to let you know that I found the solution
to my problem regarding excerps showing based
on meta keywords. I added the following to
htdig.conf
keywords_meta_tag_names: htdig-keywords
This restricts the meta indexing to only
finding htdig-keywords in the meta tag
field.
