I don't know which one is better, or if both are more or less equal.
It is just that beside the main operating system there are now behavior
differences between different Linux flavors. This makes testing more complicate.

Seems my distro, Sabayon, chose to ship a GTK2 build of Hugin. Would you
say the GTK3 build is generally better than the GTK2 one, and actively
maintained? If so, then I'll open a ticket to have the Hugin use GTK3 in
Sabayon.

There was and is code to save these settings. It seems to work on Windows, Mac
and GTK3, but not with GTK2, seufz.
