Hi Darko, panosphere mode: left, right and middle mouse click/drag behave the same. I can rotate the panosphere. I can see no difference between left and middle mouse button. mosaic: middle mouse button moves the plane (that was new for me). But mouse wheel does not zoom. So for projects with small fov the images are not clearly visibly. Hi Darko, Thank you for the analysis. I sincerely hope that Hugin is accepted into GSoC again this year and will love to see you part of that effort. What we need now is a solution for the short term, i.e. to make the behavior on Windows consistent with the behavior on Linux; and to make the behavior more fluid. I can't help with the Windows bug. For the fluidity, can you try to disable the recalculation of the meshes during the operation (resize or zooming) and execute it when the operation has completed? After using the FPW for a while and going forth and back between optimizing and looking at the FPW, hugin uses more than 1.5Gb memory, which is a lot more than before the merge. This is with a fairly small project of 6 Mpix images covering the full sphere and happens with the overview tab hidden as well. On the terminal hugin prints debug messages like this: ERROR: 21:20:02.993563 (/home/flixh/install/pano/hugin/src/hugin1/hugin/ProjectionGridTool.cpp:469) createTexture(): GL Error when bulding mipmap levels: invalid value. When crashing: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc' what(): std::bad_alloc Looks like it's running out of memory? Should not happen on a machine with 2Gb RAM and 3Gb of swap, especially when I never saw that behaviour before. I've had an issue with pano_trafo: The output of the transformed coordinates wasn't flushed after each line, so I couldn't use it with a pipe on the output end from a Python process; the output just wouldn't come. I noticed that the source mixed C-style calls to fprintf() etc. with C++ stream i/o, which, if I am not mistaken, is considered prone to malfunction. Replacing the C-style i/o with stream i/o solved the problem for me. At the same time I found it problematic to be limited to working on only one image at a time, since I wanted to work on control points. I extended pano_trafo to also work without the image number passed on the command line: If it doesn't receive the image number on the command line, it expects input in the form of triplets image nr x y My hugin version is Pre-Release 2010.5.0.687a025dd22f, self-built on Kubuntu 10.10. To make sure, I went bleeding edge and found the same in Pre-Release 2010.5.0.e7939a4f5bc7: I had finshed with one project and opened another. After a few steps I decided to undo them and pressed undo several times. Instead of stopping at the point where I had opened the new project, hugin proceeded to reload the images and context of the previous project. Pressing 'save' in this situation would overwrite the new project with the old one, since the new project's name was still active. Trying to get back into the new project by pressing 'redo' was impossible, though. This gives better results with comparable speed. 2. stereo mode - the points are optimized only for Y (horizontal line). Horizontal shift of the control points is allowed. One vertical line is added to anchor the horizontal shift of the images. The patch also adds options to optimize distortion and image center shift. 3. extra control points around the image edges - in stereo mode the image edges are interesting for stereo window alignment. The normal method generated too few control points near the edges. This patch forces additional points, which are then filtered by correlation and geometric pruning. The only thing that changes is the output format and quality (JPEG instead of TIFF) or some part of the transformation like the remapping or the enblending really work better with TIFF rather than JPEG? I usually prefer JPEG because I've seen that EXIF header information like DateTimeOriginal are preserved even in the assembled output JPEG, instead if I choose TIFF output they are not preserved, but I'd like to have an assurement that the choice of JPEG instead of TIFF does not affect the transformation. However Hugin doesn't display this information to the user in any way without peering in the .pto.mk file. Possible ways of doing this in the GUI: In the Preview window Layout tab, stacks could be shown as a single item (maybe like a hand of cards), with only the middle exposure shown. Only the middle exposure of each stack should be shown in the 'normal' preview view. The button bar in the preview could group stacks together somehow, perhaps a stack could be shown as a vertical line of buttons and/or an exposure layer could be shown as a row of buttons. The Stitcher tab could have a text field that describes the stitching job, This project consists of bracketed stacks: [0,1,2],[3,4,5], [6,7,8], [9,10,11].
