Hi Darko,

panosphere mode: left, right and middle mouse click/drag behave the same. I can 
rotate the panosphere. I can see no difference between left and middle mouse 
button.
mosaic: middle mouse button moves the plane (that was new for me). But mouse 
wheel does not zoom. So for projects with small fov the images are not clearly 
visibly. The problem is probably that the glCanvas does not get the focus (the 
focus is in the mode choice box - in this case the wheel does change the mode - 
or in the toolbar - here happens nothing).

Hi Darko,

Thank you for the analysis.  I sincerely hope that Hugin is accepted
into GSoC again this year and will love to see you part of that effort.

What we need now is a solution for the short term, i.e. to make the
behavior on Windows consistent with the behavior on Linux; and to make
the behavior more fluid.

I can't help with the Windows bug.

For the fluidity, can you try to disable the recalculation of the meshes
during the operation (resize or zooming) and execute it when the
operation has completed?

  3) Maybe shortcuts to the 1-2-3 buttons
  4) Jumping to and within the menu (e.g. using tab)

  For implementation, reading usability guidelines (such as GNOME's or
  KDE's) is often useful.

It may indeed have to do with the dragging from Aperture.

Looking at the project, the second image has a + character in the path.
This may cause the problem.

  The Hugin build copies the pod files into the current folder before
  creating man pages, it then deletes them with `make clean`.

  This fails when building in the source tree, the source files get
  removed altogether.

  The attached patch fixes this for me, I haven't pushed it because I
  don't really know why it was set up like this in the first place.

  student application patch, perhaps combined with formatting the

  The Images tab shows a list of EXIF attributes Including Aperture and
  Shutter Speed.  However there are three numbers that are used to
  calculate the EV Exposure Value, so this display should also show ISO
  number for the photo.

  I drop four files onto Hugin, these are the filenames:

  IMG_0219_zero.JPG
  IMG_0220_zero.JPG

  but they get sorted like this:

  IMG_0219_zero.JPG
  IMG_0217_zero.JPG
  IMG_0220_zero.JPG

  strange! I've tried it twice and it does it like this each time. on OS
  X it sorts them properly.

  Since the merge of the panorama overview branch into default hugin is 
suddenly very unstable and memory hungry. After using the FPW for a while and 
going forth and back between optimizing and looking at the FPW, hugin uses more 
than 1.5Gb memory, which is a lot more than before the merge.
  This is with a fairly small project of 6 Mpix images covering the full sphere 
and happens with the overview tab hidden as well.

  On the terminal hugin prints debug messages like this:

  Looks like it's running out of memory? Should not happen on a machine
  with 2Gb RAM and 3Gb of swap, especially when I never saw that
  behaviour before.

  This could obviously create some issues if stitching with multirow
  mode on.

  Can Hugin please sort the files in human sequential way (which also
  happens to be the way this particular camera names the files)?

  First time run of this version (Panorama-overview) was OK. Panosphere view 
was shown in pane to left of fast preview window. Selecting the little 'pin'

  Second time I run this version, FPW opens after alignment, image briefly 
shown, then a mangled image appeared, then hugin crashed.
  I ran again from terminal which provided the following;

  Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'hugin' received an X Window System error.
  This probably reflects a bug in the program.

  Hi all!

  I've had an issue with pano_trafo: The output of the transformed
  coordinates wasn't flushed after each line, so I couldn't use it with
  a pipe on the output end from a Python process; the output just
  wouldn't come. I noticed that the source mixed C-style calls to
  fprintf() etc. with C++ stream i/o, which, if I am not mistaken, is
  considered prone to malfunction. Replacing the C-style i/o with stream
  i/o solved the problem for me.

  At the same time I found it problematic to be limited to working on
  only one image at a time, since I wanted to work on control points. I
  extended pano_trafo to also work without the image number passed on
  the command line: If it doesn't receive the image number on the
  command line, it expects input in the form of triplets image nr x
  y

  My hugin version is Pre-Release 2010.5.0.687a025dd22f, self-built on
  Kubuntu 10.10.

  Find enclosed a patch which reflects my modifications; I hope I did it
  right ;-)

  I noticed the following behaviour on hugin Pre-Release
  2010.5.0.397a5cc07149 self-built on Kubuntu 10.10. To make sure, I
  went bleeding edge and found the same in Pre-Release
  2010.5.0.e7939a4f5bc7:

  I had finshed with one project and opened another. After a few steps I
  decided to undo them and pressed undo several times. Instead of
  stopping at the point where I had opened the new project, hugin
  proceeded to reload the images and context of the previous project.
  Pressing 'save' in this situation would overwrite the new project with
  the old one, since the new project's name was still active. Trying to
  get back into the new project by pressing 'redo' was impossible,
  though.

  I think that either undoing beyond the loading of the current project
  should be made impossible, or reverting to a previous project via undo
  should change back to the old project completely, also making it's
  name active again, together with a warning that edits to the new
  project will be lost, since once the old project's context has been
  reestablished, you cannot get back to the new project.

  Hi,
  I tried to use align-image-stack for processing stereo images (taken from 
slightly different angle). Here are the modifications that I did:

  1. Two-phase control point matching - the patch adds second phase,
  where the points are fine-tuned on full-size image. This gives better
  results with comparable speed.

  2. stereo mode - the points are optimized only for Y (horizontal
  line). Horizontal shift of the control points is allowed. One vertical
  line is added to anchor the horizontal shift of the images. The patch
  also adds options to optimize distortion and image center shift.

  3. extra control points around the image edges - in stereo mode the image 
edges are interesting for stereo window alignment. The normal method 
generated too few control points near the edges. This patch forces additional 
points, which are then filtered by correlation and geometric pruning.
  I want to work on automatic stereo window alignment in the future.

  It would be great if it were possible to save the output options (JPEG
  output and quality) in a permanent way so that they are preserved as
  the default options in the next runs of Hugins.

  By the way, I'd like to ask if there is any difference in choosing
  JPEG output quality 100% instead of TIFF output. The only thing that
  changes is the output format and quality (JPEG instead of TIFF) or
  some part of the transformation like the remapping or the enblending
  really work better with TIFF rather than JPEG?

  I usually prefer JPEG because I've seen that EXIF header information
  like DateTimeOriginal are preserved even in the assembled output JPEG,
  instead if I choose TIFF output they are not preserved, but I'd like
  to have an assurement that the choice of JPEG instead of TIFF does not
  affect the transformation.

Bug description:
  Hugin crashes when opening the attached bogus pto. This happens when called 
from the command line with the pto as argument as well as when opening the pto 
in the gui. Some kind of validity check should catch the problem instead.
  It's especially problematic as test.pto was produced by the new 
free-panomatic because it's been given a non-existing option which was 
interpreted as a non-existing image file. So when trying to add control points 
to an existing project using wrong control point detector settings hugin 
crashes and one loses the current changes.

  Keyboard commands like 0,1,2,f,g won't work in the OS X builds (on a
  dual G5, running 10.4.11). This has not worked under any version of
  Hugin I have tested, including the latest RCs and revision 3455.

  After digging around a bit I found a special case in file
  CPImageCtrl.cpp on line 1325, that excludes event processing on the
  mac with an #indef. After commenting out the #ifndef/#endif,
  everything works as expected. I have no idea why this block had been
  special-cased in the first place but it seems that this is not needed
  anymore.

Bug description:
  [This is a long-standing issue, but there doesn't seem to be an item
  in the tracker.]

  When stitching, Hugin does an internal calculation to split the photos
  up into bracketed stacks and/or exposure layers (it looks at % overlap
  and EV numbers).  However Hugin doesn't display this information to
  the user in any way without peering in the .pto.mk file.

  Possible ways of doing this in the GUI:

  In the Preview window Layout tab, stacks could be shown as a single
  item (maybe like a hand of cards), with only the middle exposure
  shown.

  Only the middle exposure of each stack should be shown in the 'normal'
  preview view.

  The button bar in the preview could group stacks together somehow,
  perhaps a stack could be shown as a vertical line of buttons and/or an
  exposure layer could be shown as a row of buttons.

  The Stitcher tab could have a text field that describes the stitching
  job, This project consists of bracketed stacks: [0,1,2],[3,4,5],
  [6,7,8], [9,10,11].

  The Images tab could group photos stacks and exposure layers together
  somehow (don't have any ideas for this).

  Hugin doesn't allow make to skip nona.

Bug description:
  I am stitching a panorama, and the blend keeps failing due to excessive 
overlap. Well, then I have to remove one overlapping image, and start the 
stitch again. As none of the images has moved, the nona step is redundant, but 
hugin doesn't skip it 
  (the issue probably is that the remapped image depends on the pto file, but 
the pto file only changed to note the fact that I disabled one of its sister 
images.

Is there any difference between the test1.pto file before and after the crash? 
i.e., can you:
cp test.pto test1.pto
open test1.pto (and cause the crash)
cp test1.pto test2.pto
open test1.pto (and it opens correctly?)

and then look at the diff between test.pto and test2.pto (after the
crash) as well as test2.pto and test1.pto?

  Hi!

  During explorations of a possible apple-script integration between
  Aperture and Hugin (which also creates a hugin project file with
  absolute paths) I found that:

  opening the pto file from the command line like this: open hugin.pto
  will crash the Hugin Application the first time it is opened - assuming the 
project file was never before opened with hugin!

  Reopening it after the crash again with the same command works.
  It seems as if there is extra data stored outside of the project file.

  Exactly the same can get reproduced by:
  * mkdir $HOME/hugin-test
  * cp test2/DSC04324.tiff $HOME/hugin-test
  * start hugin
  ** add the image in $HOME/hugin-test to the project
  * save the projext as test.pto
  * exit hugin
  * cd $HOME/hugin-test
  * mv test.pto test1.pto
  * open test1.pto
  ** this will crash Huggins and open a Apple crash reporter - partial output 
below.
  * open test1.pto
  ** this time it will work!

  New

Bug description:
  A Fedora 14 x86_64 build of the 2011.0.0 beta2 will crash when selecting 
'help about', if other help selections have not been previously selected.
  In many cases, if other help selections are chosen first, 'help about' is OK, 
but not always.
