I got similar problem with the newest version: I can use Hugin once - after
opening Hugin for the second time, when trying to add photos or open
project it gives Exceptional error box, no photos added or project opened.
Anyone familiar with this one?

Yes, multiblend 0.5 is included inside the bundle and can be used in the
same way as enblend. Just set it up in Preferences in the same way you do
for enblend, but

can be unstable during optimisation.
You still have mercurial access for panotools and I have added you
to the hugin project - Feel free to create any branches necessary.

I stuck in a problem. If I have an exclusion mask in a project - Enblend on
ubuntu (version 4.0.0) sometimes still leave black holes on the result
image even if some of overlapped images has this region. If anybody can
advice the reason for that?
