This is totally true, a protruding stick is asking for trouble.
I usually use SD Cards, most netbooks have slots.
Well-designed machines (XO-1, EeePC, Dell education Latitude 2100)

FWIW, in the schools Caroline and I are piloting this summer, we are
using USB cable extenders. This has at least three advantages:
(1) easier for the kids to find where to insert the key... no reaching

great if she could include her updates and improvements upstream.
We will have another book sprint this fall to update the manual.

Thanks Walter.
Yes, Wad patched measure based on my feedback, but we have not made it
available.
I run a few workshops in Colombia and Peru using sensors (microphone

I have finally posted the ShowNTell activity to ASLO. I hope to post the
Quiz activity tomorrow. The BotSpeak activity appears to be redundant.
The ShowNTell activity needs a help button to show how the activity
works. It also needs lots of testing on collaboration. In the meantime,

Thanks! This is really interesting.
What sort of results do you have so far?

Did the kids find any places to use the sticks outside of school?
Do you have any measure of how much content was created? Is there much
