Meanwhile, I suggest if membership is important to you that you also
send a separate mail to memb...@sugarlabs.org and also copy mailing
list.

I don't know what the deadline is for membership for this election.

Wiki page says

"All submissions MUST be sent via email to members at sugarlabs.org. 
Submissions sent to other email addresses or sent after the deadline will not

Because despite the active recruitment, which I was quite conscious
of, nobody much cared to get involved.

It seems we have the same situation now.

Three candidates for three slots was enough to complete the election
without a vote in January 2017.

Zero candidates for three slots now is inadequate.  What are you going
to do about it?

Instead of putting yourself forward for this election, or asking
others to, you choose to attack an election you didn't even bother
with?

As I said before, last year's election was a sham. I am hoping that this year 
will be better. Getting a complete up-to-date membership list is just step one. 
They should have done that last year, and didn't. We did the year before. Now, 
lets see if they can get a good, viable list of candidates willing to serve.
