Design Flaw(s)?
Given requirements for DR/alternate sites, I'd think physical protection of the
primary site has lapsed a bit. Out of curiosity, what is the current thinking
on high floor vs. basement/sub-basement for primary hardware in a densely
populated urban environment?

Hi Tim,
You may want to look at what may be keeping huge amounts of data in memory
see if there's a way to pre-sort aggregate it. If you are not seeing a lot of

Hi Peter,
I believe you need to be on the same LPAR as the IMS region for DBCTL. For IMS

The DBCTL connect attachment is local to the host system in the same way as
attachment to a local DB2 subsystem (vs. distributed, e.g. DRDA 3-part name or
jdbc type 4). A

Hi Jacques,
You may be able to issue nslookup with the IP address as a system call parse
the result (also available via USS).
I don't know if you can call rexx from IDMS, but I believe the gethostbyaddr is
a standard socket call.
A more complicated solution via rexx, written many moons
USS: a term coined on the IBM-MAIN listserv to denote a poorly or ill defined

There is a fair body of scientific evidence regarding the validity of
