The issue is that DAF is processing some SMF records that the system does
not automatically populate with the userid.
The DAF source provides sample code for IEFUJI to get the userid from the
RACF control blocks and copy it to the User Identification field of the
SMF Common Exit Parameter Area.
Dear folks;
I'm playing with DAF and I realized that the Userid field on the SMF
records is blank. This means that I need to code an IEFUJI exit to update
that field. Is there any sample IEFUJI with this executable code that
someone can kindly share with me?.

Mark;
Another debate is what's small and what's large. I'm a 303304 complex and
I do not condider myself large. I have one (1) man dataset per 3390-9
volume and each is dumped four times a day and I don't have VSAM nor CICS
activity logged.

Dear folks;
As a possibly a neverending debate, I wanto to know, besides storage and
CPU usage implications, what are the benefits of not having all the smf

Hello;
I know that HCM 1.7 comes with some new features, including a preview
capability but I would like to know if there is a way to generate or
create the HCM reports in PDF format. In this way I can make it available
to people that need to take a lot on it.
TIA,
G.
Dear folks;
I'm using HCM via TCP/IP and I have no problems when the connection is
successful but, if there is a security error accessing the CBDQDISP (by
instance, the OMVS segment was not assigned in RACF to the user trying to
connect to HCM), the user get a invalid logon. No problem here.
Dear folks;
We have a necessity to synchronize our IBM Parallel Sysplex with other
platforms, i.e. HP Non Stop, Sun, PSeries, etc. I'm aware that PS does not
support NTP.
I was thinking if with STP we can achieve this but with the information I
have, I think the answer seems to be a big NO.

Now that z/OS 1.7 is available, I would like more info about STP. I found

I've been thinking in the possibility of a Sysplex of Sysplexes, so I can
connect two sysplexes with full integrity at dataset level. In my case, is
just because we are thinking into separate from our Prod PS the Test

Hello Mark;
Certainly it's kind of weird but in a sense it's more a long term
statement for GRS. I already post more details to Greg Dick but, in other
words, it's like if there are plans to have GRS more versatile, like
having GRS Star and the GRS Ring features in one GRS service for which can

I think this debate has been discussed before but...

reason for this is to allow an effective Change Control at application

I've heard 2nd-hand that DFHSM restrictions may influence your decision
regarding use of striping and multi-volume data sets for your inventory,
but that's not my area of expertise. Hopefully, some others who follow

Rob;
DFHSM allows you to migrate the dumps datasets very agrresively if you
code MC and SG properly.
Also, don't try to save dasd space for dumps bacause there are cases when
an error is not easily recreable. I have 10 3390-9 for production dumps,
even the SG was defined with 20. Wasting space?,
