would create an internal text specification
that would require internal testing of either 3 4 OR now 5 characther length,
this would be simliar to the-svc 99- checking of the length field as well,
since u can't see beyo
check the iocp manual - it's the CSS-ID (the logical channel subsystem id).

I remember that the CSI had this capability. it was fast (probably still is
fater than the listxx idcams commands),
and gave u the capability to create output file u could feed back into idcams
to " DELETE entryname (purge, whatever)"

if the response is that showmvs can do it, then it's likely its like this,
in an IPL control block, that lists all the IPL parms of interest, u might find
it there.
