That is data being modified within the width of the processor I-cache.
The data modification will cause cache flush of the I-cache, and many
processor cycles to re-establish the cache and various pipelines.

It freed up 6 tapes, I noticed the following from a TTOC of a tape after

HSEND RECYCLE ALL EXECUTE PERCENTVALID(0) will release empty backup/ml2 tapes
from HSM control without a tape mount.
As long as the tape is marked "full" it will not be available for DF/HSM reuse.
You might also want to verify the settings for SETSYS TAPEDELETION.

1) Check SYS1.PARMLIB(CSFPRM*). It may be pointing to the wrong place.
2) Check the LRECL of the PKDS. 1.11 changed the LRECL of the PKDS. See

AFAIK, the last ML1 cannot be deleted unless you turn off volume dump.
The VTOC copies are used for Volume Recovery and Incremental Backup
application.
You can still back up datasets without volume dump.
