a lot when copying from PDF documents and so I just end up editing the

We ran into the same tar problem. I run Fedora linux on my laptop
and did something like:
cd /media/
tar cf ~/sas92.ds01.tar ./
and ftp'ed that to z/os on the omvs side. Using pax to unpackage
the archive resulted in the error. I then installed pax on my
laptop and that did the trick.
And it doesn't seem to help. I still don't get valid TCB or SRB times after I
installed the new exit.

From the $HASP050 message in JES2 Messages it is basically saying that JES2
has a shortage of BUFX (extended logical buffers) which requires changes to
EXTBUF parameter on BUFDEF statement-
It's not in MLPA and I looked back through several years of listings and it
doesn't seem to have worked for quite a while. I guess no one is looking at
those fields...
