Hardware eventually breaks
Yes, I realize there would be a single point of failure, and we probably
will not put them all on one volume.
We are not using ECS, and we are using PAV and RAID.

We have noticed 1000's of accesses to this dataset(TCPIP.STANDARD.TCPXLBIN
) every day. Has anyone else seen this activity on this dataset. IBM
referred me to QA Technote 1266409.

Does your root ZFS exist on your SYSRES or does it get moved after
receiving it from IBM? Do you rename it to reflect the OS level or
version?

Executing SDSF for the first time on a newly installed z/OS 1.11 system, I
get a 806-4 for module ISFVTBL2
Has anyone experienced this problem?

Well, I guess my Serverpac download did not lay that dataset down because
when I do 3.4 on ISF, it's not there.
Thanks.

Anyone getting ISF024I message when invoking SDSF in z/OS 1.11.
The ISFPARMs are identical to z/OS 1.9
There is no SDSF exit in place(unless IBM packaged it in the install).
The SDSF product is enabled.
Thanks.

Problem resolved. Somehow there was an old ISFPARMS member in my SISFLOAD
library. Deleted this old member and SDSF is OK.

I have no idea how the ISFPARMS module from 1.9 got into the 1.11
SISFLOAD. The 1.11 ISFPARMS is really located in SISFMOD1.
I would not have had any reason to copy my ISFPARMS from 1.9 to the 1.11
SISFLOAD library. So at this point, I do not know how this
happened.

my 1.11 z/os.
Does anyone have a sample for doing this?
Thanks.

Hi John,
Thanks for the response. I guess I should have given you more info.
I have mounted on my z/OS 1.11 system, my z/OS 1.9 etc file system. With
this in mind, how would I do this copy function?
Thanks.

What makes a DFDSS back-up a logical dump as opposed to a physical dump?

So if I do a volume dump, is the dump logical or physical depending on the
use of the LOGINDD or PHYSINDD?
