I've never seen an OMVSKERN, and there's no proc of that ilk in SYS1.PROCLIB. BPXAS on the other hand, is like a cloud of gnats. Some time ago, there was some discussion about making BPXAS a started job, so that MSGCLASS could be set to a purged class. I did that, and it works fine. sas
