Hello Radoslav,
sorry for the delay, I usually rather follow vse-l
https://lists.lehigh.edu/mailman/listinfo/vse-l
In any case I was told by a friend (thank you Christian B.!) that there were
some VSEn questions, so here I am.
The HW req. are exactly the same as with IBM z/VSE 6.2, that is min.
Sorry I no longer work on VSE systems. z/OS and z/VM only. No contracts…

Yup. It started out as a box stock z/OS ADCD and didn't need any
alterations.

I provided official IBM statements. Some of them do not conform
technical ones.
BTW: What does it mean "managed"? Did you simply IPL the system with no
"black magic" changes?

z/OS 1.4 - last system with so called bimodal accomodation - a right to
run in 31-bit mode on 64-bit machine.
z/OS 1.5 - last system able to run on 31-bit machine.
z14 - first machine which disabled ESA/390 mode for IPL. z/OS 1.13 was
the first which run on z14.
Of course this is a little bit
I 'think' I heard at the VM Workshop that 6.3 will remove some of the
IBM marketing generated hardware requirements and it will run on some
older boxes that 6.2 from IBM will not run on.

OS/390 v2.10 had PTFs to add 64 bit mode
OS/390 v2.10 had PTFs to add 64 bit mode.
z900 announcement z/OS 1.01 had 64 bit mode included.
Default 64 bit with 1.04.
About 1.10 64 bit required.
z14 Around 2.01 IPLed in 64 bit.

The online stuff says the tech specs are exactly the same as z/VSE 6.3,
because it is the same source code.

I'm looking for technical information about VSEn 6.3, precisely hardware
requirements like max. memory supported, max. CPs supported/used, etc.
Note: VSEn 6.3 is new incarnation of zVSE, but now it is produced by
21st Century Software.
