I take it that you mean the CATALOG address space. This has been so as long as
I can remember: CAS starts in asid x'B' (I think) as a limited function address
space to provide *some*
I nagged Mark Thomen into using a reusable ASID for CATALOG
in 2006, release z/OS1.9.

I was wondering, is there any performance penalty for having the IGDSMSxx

For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions,
Steve,
RACF security for IMS components is here from V12. If I recall correctly,
V13 was the last to support the gen rules. You need to activate RACF

Does anyone know if IBM has ever integrated RACF into the BMP calling

The V64WAENTRY contains two flags and starting and ending address
Its 31 bit counterpart VSMLIST contains a lot more info though I know that

My advice would be to go ahead and raise the RFE as there seems to be nothing
unreasonable in the request.
It's chances of being addressed will increase if you can get Share/GSE to vote
for it as well.
