Sorry, I wish I knew more about it.  The client is working with IBM 
directly to get things tested.  My part was setting up a local temporary 
Linux box running MinIO to simulate the S3 environment.


My guess is it's designed for long-retained, rarely-used datasets.  If 
so maybe even hours down is not a huge issue.

client that connects a TS7000 (and maybe DS8000) via TCPIP to an S3 
storage facility such as what AWS can provide.

Maybe try RESMIL=OFF too.

If you specify RESMIL=OFF, the RSA-message residency time is set to zero and 
global resource serialization does no tuning. If you specify RESMIL=0, the 
system tunes the residency time in a range with a minimum of zero.
