Hello
Is there a freeware or any sample REXX which can produce a human readable
output to understand any IP tied up to a VTAM(LU) by reading the SMF
dataset. We don't have SAS or MXG in our shop.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Or you could recreate the missing catalog, recatalog the dataset to it (define
recatalog) and then move the dataset somewhere else, then delete the new
catalog. If there are othjer datasets on the volume, you would be better off
zapping the VVDS than deleting it.
If you look at FSZAP you can
I would delete the VVDS entry in the catalog(s) and then delete the VVDS
itself. Let dynamic allocation of the VVDS take care of the rest. At least that
is what my memory thinks. PMFJI if my memory is faulty!

late again here, I see some great suggestions for the catalog solutions
tool, I think IBM bought that company and rebranded it ? the tool I use
is Dyno-Softs TREX, it can update the VVDS entries across many volumes,
I don't see any examples I have that replace the catalog entry in the
VVDS
The safest course might be to open a case to IDCAMS support for L2.
Should you break your environment, they would probably be the ones to help.
