SDB is supported for DSORGs of PS and PO for DASD and tape datasets.

You can use BLKSIZE=0, but also code DSORG=PS , so that SMS calculates the
Optimum Blksize based on the LRECL

I want to generate a data set
Can you run the shell script from JCL?
I should have made it clear I need to have the JCL generate the data set each
time it is run.
If I just wanted to do it one time, I would just use ISPF Edit:
1. NUM ON
2. type "Record"
3. Repeat 999
4. NUM OFF
5. Shift the sequence numbers
Meanwhile I

A shell solution:
#! /bin/sh +x
R=0
while R=$(( $R + 1 )); [ 10 -ge $R ]
do
echo "Record $R"
done
I'm confident
I want to generate a data set that has the record number on each line, such as:
RECORD 1
RECORD 2
RECORD 3
Or
RECORD 1
RECORD 2
RECORD 3
Perhaps I want to generate 1,000 records. Or 10,000.
The question is, what's the simplest way to do this with a *standard* z/OS
utility (i.e.

As of z/OS 1.13 you can issue:
F CATALOG,ENABLE(EXTENDEDALIAS)
"when all systems in the sysplex are z/OS V1R13 or greater."

Hi Kolusu,
Thank you very much for your input.
The input file already is a subset of 0404 records, and the SUM FIELDS=NONE
was the culprit. Once again the trouble come from copying a previously used
JCL and not cleaning it properly.
Now, if you will not mind, I have another question regarding
Can EXTENDEDALIAS support be enabled "on the fly," with no other changes
in an existing BCS (V2R2+)?
What, if any, are the pitfalls, roadblocks, pre-reqs?
Thanks in advance,

Jack,
Not clear if you still need help , but the INCLUDE COND does not have the
include for type 0404 records, unless you already filtered your input.
I see that no one has offered any help with this yet. Perhaps if you were to

Ok,
I found the problem (I think)
It was probably due to the "SUM FIELDS=NONE" statement

Hi,
I am trying to find a RACF dataset profile for which two different groups
have ALTER access.
I am using for the INPUT a subset of a type 0404 records from a IRRDBU00
output file. In the first step I am crating two files with the dataset
profiles in which the groups have ALTER authority:
