I used a B6700 at University and I became a fan of WFL, Algol, DCAlgol and
Espol (student). In fact I wrote a parser for a Linear Programming language
using Algol. I actually designed the language using BNF and parsed the
statements that way. The only alternatives I have found to Algol (Burroughs
ust wonder if other folks
on this list have ever encountered problems similar to this? Thanks

This is the situation
We are replacing our zBC12 with a Z14 ZR1 which is DR machine. It will
connect to the same SAN as the zBC12 and we want to run the same LPAR
configuration and of course the same IOCDS.
Our support folks are trying to do the work remotely(externally) and are
getting stuck
Looking at implementing a parallel Sysplex primarily to support CICS
regions that need to be up on more than one LPAR.
But some of the regions are not Sysplex compliant so we'll run them on one
LPAR only.
But we have a number of batch jobs that calls CICS transactions in those
regions and we are
I think Dave will provide better information but I'm researching the same
thing myself and found this document useful.

We do something similar except because our locations are only 80km apart we
can run Metro Mirror.
To do DR we flash to tertiary volumes using a small Z LPAR but looking at
changing that to using CSM with practice volumes as per this video from the
Washington Systems Center.
We ordered our ZR1 with 96G of memory since that was recommended based on
our planned usage and growth.
Not sure how much was the memory component but small in terms of the other
components.

I might be posting twice here but I've been reading the list via Google
Groups and posting there not realizing that the posts don't necessary hit
the mailing list. So I've done the proper thing and subscribed to the list.
Sorry for any confusion.
Anyway when I started DR planning and Sysplex I
