I do a lot of zCP3000 studies and most customers sending me data seem to be
using a 15 minute interval. I have a couple using 30 minutes (and one 20
minutes), but I prefer 15 minutes for my studies.

having performance issues, without a re-IPL. I have seen very good results from
SMT-2 in my customers, but there could always be that

I know you can do this, but I can't seem to find the right command in z/OS.
Any help much appreciated. In z/VM I use SET MULTITHREAD to do this.

I think that is just the HMC. I had already found that (Shutdown or Restart) in

Thanks for all the responses. I should have explained what z/VM Link
Aggregation is. This is not about sharing an OSA port between multiple LPARs
(that is easy). With a z/VM vswitch you can connect up to 8 OSA ports to a
single vswitch. Turns out there is no direct equivalent in z/OS, you use
I am sure that z/OS must provide a function equivalent to z/VM's Link
Aggregation (where you can share physical OSA ports in a VSwitch), but lots
of Google searches are not helping me. Any suggestions?

Re the 3270 support.
This has been in the HMC for a long time and is used by z/VM. z/OS is finally
getting the same support (in addition to the line mode HMC console). So any
machine supported by z/OS 2.1 (i.e z9 and later) will have access to 3270 on
the HMC.
