Oddly enough, z/OS supports stream I/O in the Unix shell
It's an old REXX performance hack to mitigate the call/parsing call
overhead of EXECIO to scale better for large data sets.
You have to tune the number of reads because the overhead of storage
allocation in REXX may be the bottleneck. There's a sweet spot.
