IIC Dallas z/OS guest system 'sleep'

2013-04-06 Thread Graham Hobbs
Hello,

On Dallas IIC from my z/VM control userid I issued and got:

send etpgabc \cp sleep
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 16:33:32
qsleep etpgabc
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 16:33:51

What tells me if the guest z/OS system is actually asleep or have I done
something wrong?

cheers
Graham Hobbs

Back in the day, I used to check this by attempting to dial to a local
3270 device on the virtual machine. If it was asleep, my dial session
would be unresponsive.

QSLEEP should tell you if your guest is in sleep mode or not. If you want to
double check it Ed's technique should tell you.
