I think manually modify /usr/share/ibus/component/simple.xml to register
custom keyboard is just a workaround, users should not modify any file that
under /usr.

I think ibus configures the default files in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols and
if you add any new files, I think you also need to update simple.xml by
manual.

Maybe it is an Arch Linux thing, but there is not ibus-xkb package even
from AUR. I tried installed from source with code from github:
