I think it is android 2.2, check whether there is an option in accounts and
sync to stop background data usage (It is there in 2.3, am not sure about
2.2).
In case you want to monitor data usage you can use Onavo Count (

Prasanth,
Please understand that it is not the problem with GNU/Linux, it is the
problem with the device manufacturers that they are not releasing
their device driver, or not making the instructions open. So never

I am using Acer Aspire 6930 Laptop with Ubuntu 10.04 and Fedora 13 KDE.Lap
have a winbond CIR device.
In Ubuntu 10.04, installed LIRC but not detecting the device. same in Fedora
13. I tested with HP laptop's remote control.
The same is working in windows platform.
I hardly need that working for my
boot with ubuntu live CD.
open terminal.
type
sudo fdisk -l
and find your ubuntu partition. some thing like sda1, sda2 or sda and some
number.
assuming yours is sda1, if not replace sda1 in following steps with
corresponding.
then type
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/
then try to install grub by
sudo gr
actually when installing ubuntu does not ask to give password for root. so
there does not exist any password for root. so we cant use "su" in terminal.
but ubuntu default user gets super user permission by using "sudo" command.
if you need to set a password for root. you can do
"sudo su"
